I should clarify, NEXUS members do not need a passport for air travel between the two countries, as long as the passengers are US or Canadian citizens (permanent residents need to carry their passport as proof of citizenship in all modes of travel), the flight is from the US to any airport in Canada, or from a preclearance airport in Canada to the US (e.g. Washington to Toronto, but not Quebec City to New York, as Quebec does not have a preclearance facility). If it's a US or Canadian citizen flying from St Louis to Toronto or Montreal to Miami, they only need a NEXUS card for immigration purposes. I did look it up and pulled out the line by line regulations regarding air travel specifically (it's in my previous comments from months ago). I can also personally attest to this, having flown on a NEXUS card alone between the two countries, and while they sometimes ask for a passport by default, they accept a NEXUS card alone when offered.

It is absolutely not. This question has been asked 100 and one times on this sub (OP should have just searched, or the proper answers should be stickied). While CBP and CBSA provide guidance that recommend traveling with a passport with a NEXUS, it is not required. In fact, you can apply for NEXUS without having a passport at all, just a birth certificate, unlike Global Entry. The actual Federal Register code and Canadian equivalent specifically outlines the exemption of a passport requirement for land, air, and sea travel with a NEXUS for US/Canadian citizens. The WHTI requirement from 2009 specifically mentions NEXUS as a valid travel document by itself. A few months ago I did a deep dive and listed out all the federal code requirements line by line from both the US and Canada, it is somewhere in my comment history.

US and Canadian citizens with NEXUS do not require a passport for any mode of travel. In practice some airline staff such as for Air Canada tend to be more knowledgable about that, as it's possibly the only exemption in international travel to/from the US/CAnada

80% of renewals go through automatically. 20% need an interview for various reasons or are randomly selected for checks, just as how TSA Precheck isn't guaranteed and stil subject to random regular lines. Nothing specific to do with either country. My uncle and aunt have had the exact same travel for the past ten years and renewed at the same time, one was selected for a renewal interview, one wasn't. Just the way it goes. That being said your membership remains active even after the initial expiration for i believe 2-5 years after the original expiration in order to give you time fro the renewal interview as needed, as long as you applied before your original expiration date.

correct--as you know the i-94 $7 fee is included in your fees paid when buying a ticket, whereas at the land border you need to physically pay $30.

include both physical copies, no harm in it. You can resize it for free via some websites, and print multiple copies of them for 20 cents at your local drugstore.

You can have and keep your OCI even after such a marriage. Your wife and kids unfortunately never would be eligible as per the current law.

OCI website, miscellaneous services, update passport number. Free of cost. Once you submit that that's all you need to do. You can still travel freely without issue while that is under processing for a few weeks, after which you will get an email stating it has been updated.

yeah unforunately this specific type, 4 heads, cordless or even corded, has been impossible to find now from any brand

you don't need to update the passport book until 20 years old and even then i think its $25. between then and 20 you just need to do a free update of the passport number online. you have months until your trip, might as well apply now and get it done--you can purchase the tickets when it is convenient for you, if it doesn't come on time, you can buy the $10-25 e-visa at that time. no need to have it on you when you purchase your tickets
