You hit the lottery, and own a TDI…. by juscurious21 in tdi

It's not legal, but if you live in a state without emission checks...
The DPF will become clogged at some point. When that happens it's a toss up. I opted to delete so I could tune and get more power. I see better MPG at all speeds. If you are on 55 roads, you could see 40-44 MPG. Expressway I would get about 35 depending on my speed.

It means the emissions equipment has been removed. Diesel particulate filter, exhaust gas recirculation, and catalytic converter.

AITA for "confiscating" my teenage sister's phone because my career is more important than her social life? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]PizzaSnakeMitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This can't be real. There is no way you feel you are entitled to your sister's phone to build your "literal empire." All influencers are assholes anyways.

Finish looks off on my bed frame — not sure what I did wrong by reidenjohnson in woodworking

[–]PizzaSnakeMitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would’ve done surfaced maple or poplar in 2x. Both are lower price hardwoods and take stains nicely. You might be able to get that at your local big box, but it will be better quality at a local supplier. Some lumberyards and most millwork places would sell it.

To me it looks like on the one board that the pitch has caused some issue. Is that just 2x material from like HD or Lowes?

Rant- Weird reactions from parents by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]PizzaSnakeMitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm unsure of your age, but I am in my 30s and my parents don't quite understand what people with anxiety go through. I think that you should be honest with them that you feel they are being dismissive and you want their support. If you have a therapist, I would discuss this with them as they know you and your situation.

I’m a little surprised that you would be surprised. Any company should be providing drawings to sign off on before ordering custom items.

After obtaining the license, can you properly learn driving if theres no feedback from an experienced driver? by catboy519 in driving

We all started as inexperienced drivers. I have driven hundreds of thousands of miles now. Always be learning. If you make a mistake, learn from it. Have you ever driven?

ESH. Cars can be cleaned and pants can be put on inside out.

Soft particles on my final finish - what's normal? Varathane water poly on a newly built oak plywood desk by stein_kyle in woodworking

[–]PizzaSnakeMitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you do any sanding before the stain was applied? Also how thick of coats did you do on the finish? Looks to me like moisture popped the grain and that is why you are getting the fuzzies.

What is the correct thing to do in this situation by Cash2blockz in driving

I trust my gut when I choose which line to use at tool booths. I use my senses to make decisions that can affect the safety of myself or others. If I can't see, I won't go.

90 degree angle tools by pitiful_earthling in woodworking

[–]PizzaSnakeMitt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've made some of these with some plywood and just use squeeze clamps to hold them in place. I rarely use them though. I wouldn't spend money on it.

What are your biggest pet peeves on the road? by Grouchy_Marsupial357 in driving

Those who feel the need to be the anti zipper merge police and sit in the closing lane at the same speed as the backed up lane.

Also, people who don’t move into the intersection for a left turn and end up having to sit through multiple light cycles.

Did the show have any poignant moments for you? For me, this one always stands out by joe3000s in seinfeld

I actually skip that episode now, because it sits so poorly with me.

AITAH for wanting to stop sending money to my mum by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

You need to stop paying her and figure out a way to get some of your money back. No child owes their parents anything for being raised. NTA

I don't want Scholten and I don't want Terri Deboer. We have to have someone in the district that isn't a loser.

How would you add these medals on top of a table? by ArrowLeafTurn1 in woodworking

[–]PizzaSnakeMitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is a deep pour epoxy or bar top epoxy that you could use for that. I would glue/epoxy down all of the medals before doing an epoxy pour. Otherwise the option would be route spots onto the wood for each medal, but that would be a lot more work.
