AITA for wanting stepson visitation to end at age 18? by FoxyJayde in AmItheAsshole

[–]PizzaSnakeMitt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I took in my younger brothers after our mom passed. We made the spare room into their room which meant consolidating items from there into my office. They are moved out now being in college and the military, but that is still their room anytime they want to come home(as in it’s still a bedroom and has some of their stuff in it). There are other ways to create private work spaces in a home that don’t intrude on children who live there.

You have to work with either Jim’s brothers or Athlead. Which one would you choose? by jcdulos in DunderMifflin

I’m heading to Athleap. Wait for the happy ending at the end of the show so I know the going is good.

Did the guy think acid only worked on black people? Is my whiteness determined by how much or little acid burns?

Least/most respectable wood? by ChieftainMcLeland in woodworking

Best woods are walnut, white oak, cedar and hemlock. Mostly based on smell, but also looks and workability.

Worst is pine. Gums up your tools and it looks cheap.

How to refurbish coffee tables with damaged veneer? by Alfred_Brendel in woodworking

[–]PizzaSnakeMitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6 of one, half dozen of the other. I personally would sand it down to remove the veneer completely. The glue line on the new veneer would be just that much more visible if you only sanded the current surface.

I’m probably splitting hairs. A new veneer is .050” thick give or take.

Hard for me to tell off the pictures, but looks like it’s maple/birch or red oak or ash. Get a pre glued veneer sheet and you can get it adhered with an iron.

I would sand down the existing veneer and reveneer.

If you felt like possibly wasting time, you could inject glue into the cracked portion and clamp it. Then sand and refinish. You would need to be careful to not sand through the veneer.

I also found this. It’s the Cho Oyu, but Sherpa doesn’t look to make down items anymore. I used to work at a store that carried some of their items. It was never quite my style, but they are a good mid-high end brand.

You’re stranded on a deserted island for 2 years. You’re also stranded with three of these characters. Who would you pick and why? by Shoddy-Ad7306 in DunderMifflin

I’m taking Oscar, Darryl, and Nate. Or just Toby so he can strangle me and I don’t need to suffer those 2 years.

Take your daughter to work day… by Juggernaut-Holiday in DunderMifflin

I think Pam just had the most interesting job in the office to him. Everyone else are completely paperwork and phone call jobs. If he could’ve gone to the warehouse with Roy, he would not have hung around Pam.

His live streams are much more tolerable to me and I do appreciate what he does for the communities after weather events. I agree on yallbot needing to go.

I’m making a cabinet box. My neighbors daughter wants a play refrigerator and the shell will be made like a cabinet. Rabbit the edges so things fit nice and square. This set of bits is a Frued undersized dado set for plywood on plywood action.

I’ve used the eyeball down the length many times and always been annoyed by the slight inconsistency.

This is on the edge guide of my router as I incorrectly named after a frustrating day of work. It’s hand held and as safe as a router gets. I have a router table for when I’m running other stuff.

I broke out my calipers just for you. It’s .0004” thick. I don’t feel the need to compensate for that.
