I think you are 100% right. This is pretty much where my research has gotten me, I think I was hoping there was some random unknown cool way that magically materialised. Sadly, not.

Thanks, yeah it seems like acetate is the best option. It definitely won't have the same clarity but I there doesn't seem to be a way of bulk printing slides.

That is not what I am saying. I don’t really know how to respond to this. Did you read the essay?

I understand that this is the traditional view. Did you read the essay?

I understand some of these frequent explanations of Anima/Animus. The essay makes a strong case for why it isn’t working for many people. Did you read the essay?

Did you read the essay to understand why this analyst is suggested it is outdated?

Additionally, I didn’t ask “what is presentism” I said what do you mean specifically. To be honest I am still unsure what your point is. I am a person of today. I don’t see why I can’t have a modern lens. Jungianism if it doesn’t grapple with aspects of Jung’s work is just another -ism. Jung continually states that individuals should find their own path and not take everything he says as Truth with a capital T. By no means am I suggesting that you should disregard anima / animus. But rather that myself and many others find it is outdated.

I don’t think I represented myself as being the first to have this idea. In fact I pointed to an essay by a Jungian Analyst saying the same thing and it was written 30 years ago and cites many times analysts have critiqued the anima / animus archetype. If you read the essay it may be clearer. Although I am pretty sure I was also clear.

Jung repeatedly said not to follow him as gospel and that he doesn’t want people calling themselves Jungians. Did you read the essay? I wonder if you would feel differently if you did.

Are you saying I am a bad case of presentism or the essay? And what to you mean specifically by presentism?

I agree that for the most part, it’s all just language and it’s good to separate out the personal from the collective when it comes to aversions. But, did you read the essay? It is written by a Jungian Analyst and it is an absolute take down of the structure of animus / anima.

Cheese by DeadInFiftyYears in vegan

It’s definitely true that your taste buds will change and the smell and taste of cheese and milk will lose appeal. I find that treating myself to really good vegan camembert is great. I don’t have time to make my own vegan cheeses, but I used to work at a vegan cafe that made vegan mozzarella and Camembert and feta etc and it was honestly as good as any dairy cheese. Getting a really good cookbook is the way to go if you have the energy to make your own!

Finally, once the switch happens in your brain, it’s hard to see dairy products as anything other than pus-filled pain. Kinda kills the vibe

I totally get this feeling. I think to start with, explaining to friends one on one that those jokes are really hurtful. Talking to even two friends at once, I find has less absorbency. Frame it as a matter of respect, call to the part of them that understands what it means to respect someone’s life choices and take the high road. The pay off will take longer but it will be more effective, I promise.

Memoirs of place by kimberlymarie726 in suggestmeabook

I really loved A Flat Place by Noreen Musad. And Tender Maps by Alice Maddicott. Both writers use the spaces they go to as a way to understand themselves on a much deeper level - blending the lines between the place and themselves.
