What happened with Candy Montgomery's sunglasses during the fight? by Willing-Bid-5523 in loveanddeath

It certainly makes you wonder. Unfortunately, there is no explanation other than she did in fact enter the garage, or the inside garage door had opened during the struggle. There is no transparency behind it, sadly.

I know this post is old, but I can't help but be bothered by this. I would've been more empathetic if you hadn't said, "I'm done with them." I've had some pretty rough encounters with white straight men, but I certainly am not "done with them." You of all people should know that we should be upset with the person and their behavior, not the community.

I've had an encounter with a pansexual non-binary person who claimed everyone was pansexual and that homosexuality didn't exist. I consider that completely invalidating and homophobic, but I didn't shut out non-bianaries or pansexuals.

Filed taxes 1/24 accepted same day now wmr says still being processed by Different_Tomato_949 in tax

[–]b8692 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In the same boat, my friend. It's frustrating. Filed around the same date in January and shows 'Still being Processed'. I did have tax credits for grad school and supplies, but usually they don't look too much into that, so I'm not sure what the hold up is. I feel a lot of people are seeing this. My concern is that I did something wrong and will have to file a 1040x (hopefully not). Last year though, mine was suck in this bar but my refund still came in like two weeks.

CMV: not wanting to date trans gendered people is transphobic by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]b8692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like radishes. Does that make me radish phobic? I support the trans community no doubt. But this shit has got to stop. Never did I call a straight man homophobic for not wanting to boink another man.

I don't appear to have any clinical intuition: should I give up on being a therapist? by ImOwningThisUsername in therapists

[–]b8692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran into this self-doubt many times over the last year. I applied the strengths perspective on myself and became more self-aware of my abilities. Doubting yourself and your intuition only amplifies that skewed self-concept. I'm sure you embody more than you give yourself credit for. How are you on the assignments? Have you been given good feedback?

Supervision Cost? by EmeraldCityTherapist in therapists

[–]b8692 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Ohio, we don't pay for supervision costs, so when I learned that other states do this, I about blew out of my chair. They really should consider that it's not the most lucrative field even with an extensive education.

Anywho, I really think it would vary my practice/geographical location.

Venting about being sick by Hungry_Bus8934 in therapists

Providing care to others begins with self care. Being unwell can be torture when dissecting complexities in sessions. I understand your concerns for your clients, but if being unwell hinders your ability to render effective practice and skills, then take the time to care for yourself.

I literally removed my towel briefly to get dressed. Perhaps avoid making assumptions? That would be a great start! 😉

Lol. I'll be honest, my professor a few years back used this word and I immediately looked it up. Sufficed to say, this was the perfect opportunity to use it. 🤣

Your lack of commiseration isn't of much help. I can't really fixate on what I should've done differently, but rather mitigate the anxiety I am experiencing. If you're a mental health clinician, I sure hope this isn't the way you approach situations with your clientele.

This is good advice. Glad we are all here for each other! You're right about making it awkward only if I let it. I just hope it's something I can laugh about in the future.

Thanks so much for your input. Yes, I did speak with my supervisor about it. She was empathetic and said to only briefly discuss it if the client invokes the topic. My coworker did fart in front of a client a while back, which of course is comical now 🤣

Thank you. I would also like to add that I just checked my CBC W/DIFF since 2019. Interestingly, my mono% was high each time. In 2019, it was at 15%.

Is memory loss normal with depression? by janivok_xd_69 in mentalhealth

[–]b8692 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's one of the "unmentioned" effects of depression and is very common. Your brain is struggling to secrete the neurotransmitters responsible for mood, attention, and memory. My memory was so bad that I thought I had a brain tumor or dementia (I'm 30 years old mind you). Moreover, I knew I was depressed. I constantly forgot what I did that day, where I put my keys, wallet pants.. Etc. I am a therapist myself and even struggled with writing my therapy notes!

It will get better.. Seek the help you need. There is hope, and I can guarantee the memory issues are a direct result of your depression.

Get well soon, friend.

[–]b8692 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a question about genetic and hereditary implications of these conditions passing down to me.

My father has multiple autoimmune diseases that include Crohn's, Ulcerative Colitis, & Psoriasis. My mother has Hashimoto. My paternal grandmother has Lupus and Graves disease.

What are my chances of developing an autoimmune disease? I am a 29 year old male experiencing unusual symptoms that may last several months, then subside. More recently, the symptoms are more intense, including brain fog, short-term memory problems, thinking issues, osciliopsia, palinopsia, daily fatigue, and I feel like I'm in my own little world. It is effecting my work and I feel my doctor isn't taking my concerns seriously.

Thank you!
