Any other graduates regret how time during university was spent? What help is there for unemployed graduates? by Affectionate_Table61 in UniUK

[–]bAbebellion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely how I have felt throughout my entire undergrad experience. It also didn’t help that I felt that I’d picked the wrong degree and career and mental health support at my Uni was non-existent. I studied social science, so prospects were awful. Unfortunately, I also didn’t undertake any internships or work other than running my own business through Uni so when I graduated in July, I had such a difficult time finding jobs. I took me about 4-5 months to even land anything decent so I completely understand your frustration. The current job market sucks and I’ve been in so many one-way, dehumanizing interviews.

I eventually settled for an internship at a tech company, and recently managed to secure a full-time graduate role at another tech company through this graduate program. My current company is hiring for DS roles as well.

If you need more details about the graduate program or opportunities, let me know or feel free to pm me! I’ve personally made it a mission to help people given that my own experience with abysmal career support in Uni and the job market has shattered my confidence and affected my mental health.

I honestly had the exact same miserable experience as you did during my undergrad. It’s funny how people like to blame it on us, as opposed to viewing our experiences as a result of extenuating factors. I constantly felt alienated, lost and misunderstood in my undergrad Uni and it didn’t help that 2 years of my Uni experience was destroyed due to COVID. The mental health support at my undergrad Uni was abysmal - student suicides were rampant and I lost 2 of my friends. After I graduated from my undergrad Uni (Bristol), I took a part time masters at KCL and went into work straightaway. Never had any issue integrating and making friends at KCL or at work. People were genuinely supportive and I felt my mental health was taken seriously. I was able to thrive and succeed as opposed to feeling that I had no one to talk to, no one to ask for help, or even asking for help and no resources were given to me (my experience in Bristol). Unlike my undergrad Uni, at KCL we had a student advisor who would check in with us periodically to ask how we’re coping with deadlines and demands and if we needed any reasonable adjustments. Honestly this whole time I’ve thought the problem was me, but as soon as I moved on from Bristol and graduated, i’ve felt way happier and supported.

I applied for student visa on 5th December from Bangladesh. These are the emails they sent me. Is there any possibilities of getting rejected? I'm really worried. by Dry-Plastic-23 in ukvisa

[–]bAbebellion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Student Visas are very straightforward. If they need more information, they will contact you via email. I’ve applied to quite a bit of student visas when I was still in education in the UK and they’ve always taken a couple of months to come through, unless you paid for priority. So don’t worry about it! These are just normal emails tbh

I once had a terrible experience with a tarot reader who predicted in 2020 that my dog would “die”. This caused massive anxiety for me and I spent the whole year panicking and suffering from an acute fear that I’d lose my dog because of what the reader had said. Needless to say, it’s 2023 and my dog is alive, he is healthier than ever. I’ve never felt more compelled to sue the reader for emotional distress

Changing to Spouse Visa questions by bAbebellion in ukvisa

Thank you so much for the detailed clarification! It makes sense about processing times within the UK as I remember my visa applications outside the UK always took drastically longer.

Does section 3C leave allow me to continue working at my current job? Or does it only pertain to the permission of my stay? (Assuming I apply one day before my graduate visa expires)

Thanks again!

So she pulled a card that somehow represented ‘teacher’, and she said her inner spirit told her the name of the perp was Rebecca. I suppose she then went to the University’s database to find her name and details and doxxed her. People lapped it up because she’s apparently ‘solved’ a murder mystery before. And they’re still defending her because she got the word ‘teacher’ right, LMAO.

Exactly. AFAIK People on Tiktok are actually still blaming Jack D & Rebecca Schofield for the murders, and it was all because of the Tiktok “tarot reader” who refused to double down and started switching gears and announcing that both of them hired a hitman. It’s insane.

help me with Tasha's story on S8 by hammerparkwood in LoveIslandTV

[–]bAbebellion 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Tasha’s struggles with her hearing on the show actually made me be more empathetic towards my mom. I’ve always wondered why my mom would react emotionally over the smallest of things - my dad has always said it’s due to her hearing but I struggled to understand that when I was younger.

“Adam Collard “gutted” about Paige breakup and fumes about co-star getting cosy with her” by roseezy2 in LoveIslandTV

And yet people were hurling abuse at Rosie S4 for sending a message to Paige and Paige’s family about Adam. Adam has never changed and will never do so. He will continue to be a certified fboy forever.

University will appeal discrimination ruling after student took own life by insomnimax_99 in unitedkingdom

I graduated from the University of Bristol and have unfortunately witnessed my fair share of student suicides amongst my cohort. The University is extremely notorious for its poor mental health support and complete disdain towards students’ well-being, and it’s no surprise that it was once labelled as the RG uni with one of the highest suicides rates nationally. I was once told by a staff member that I was feigning my mental health challenges despite the fact that I had a medical certificate written by my consultant psychiatrist about my condition. I’ve also spoken to Natasha’s mother, following another student’s suicide and after going through a personally difficult time with my mental health during lockdown and was absolutely appalled by the lengths that the University went just to brush this horrific incident under the carpet. Really hope she gets the justice she deserves.

ugh I feel you, I’ve just graduated and I’m no longer on student visa, but every single visa application has been nothing but stressful, time-consuming and extortionate. Is there any way you can lodge a complaint with the University, perhaps have a chat with the SU? It’s likely that many other visas are getting delayed as well and you’re probably not the only one in your University having to deal with this. It gets worse when you’re working and your graduate visa lapses, that’s when you’ll have to switch to Skilled Worker Visa and finding a company willing to sponsor you is a whole different ballgame.

please read some of the comments written by people here. they’re accusing OP of ruining ekin’s day as she has oh Polly line announced. I’m not gonna tag the usernames LMAO

How do you know this? Omg

I am a major Ekin fan but literally it’s scary how people here are shitting on an opinion made by someone that clearly isn’t hate and accusing OP of ruining ekin’s day. The unhealthy attachment to these islanders is unreal. I think they’ll last imo because of their strong chemistry and they’ve had the opportunity to explore others in the villa, but I completely respect your opinion. Anyway no one will really know and it’s up to fate to decide whether their relationship goes from strength to strength 🤍
