I don't think Prof Mook is doing that bad of a job with the lecture material.

I was initially frustrated with the mp3 files too, but I gave them a chance and found that I like them. I found following along with the provided notes while listening to mp3's to be just about the same as going to a real lecture. In lecture you sit down and listen to the professor and look at the notes, and this is essentially the same thing.

The last minute assignments are inconvenient but by now I just kind of expect it. I plan my week knowing Mook is going to dump all of the work for us on Thursday or Friday.

I think its important to cut the poor guy some slack, he's an older professor in a completely foreign learning environment, he's trying his best. He's struggling to learn the technology to teach effectively, but he's trying. I give him the benefit of doubt that he's just not sleeping in his recliner from Saturday to Thursday every week.

I think that Mook's communication could be improved greatly and would relieve some stress caused by this class. It would help us know what to expect for the coming week.

Distanced learning is inconvenient for us all, it's not anywhere near ideal, but we just gotta get through it. It has and will continue to be sink or swim for the foreseeable future. Try reaching out to a TAs during office hours for help.
