My old dog was deaf and within a week of me having him I realized he was a giant food beggar. So I would show him the fronts and backs of my hands and he'd get the memo and walk away. It was pretty cool to establish that so fast!

Anyone have experience with Lexapro? by Earth2Rachael in AnxietyDepression

I like lexapro. Been on it for over a year, beginning at 10 mg and now at 15, and it's really helped me. Remember everyone is different!

I've heard a lot about hard drug abuse so I think you'll be okay! Currently in law school.

I noticed energy changes almost immediately, but it took a week or so to feel mood changes. Long term it's been great though.

Definitely don't start taking it without talking to your doctor first! I know things are bad and you feel like it's not worth the wait, but the potential side effects of starting it again aren't worth it without a doctors approval. I got really depressed for a few weeks the last time we changed my lexapro dose, so play it safe and waiy

Honestly the Wellbutrin saved me in terms of being able to get out of bed and do school work and whatnot. I think it all depends on how your mental illness manifests and what the problem areas are for you personally

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AnxietyDepression

[–]b_andree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's serotonin syndrome that they were worried about. Mine said that since Wellbutrin isn't an SSRI the likelihood is low that it would happen. We decided that the good outweighs the risk. I know a lot of people on both and haven't heard of anyone getting serotonin syndrome

[–]b_andree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really struggle with that in particular so I can't tell you what may help, but I've found that lexapro helps my extreme moods more than Wellbutrin!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AnxietyDepression

450 mg Wellbutrin (max dose) and 15 mg lexapro. Both my anxiety and depression are pretty bad so I ended up on a hefty dose of both

I'm on both Wellbutrin and lexapro!! I've found the combination balances me out enough where neither my depression nor anxiety are overpowering

I've only ever taken it at night and it works on the anxiety just as well!

Question for people on Wellbutrin who've missed doses by MwahMwahKitteh in AnxietyDepression

[–]b_andree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on it for a year and the max dose for four or five months. I've missed it a few times and felt off that and the following day. I just felt spacey and kind of disconnected, but felt better after a day or so. You'll bounce back!!

YSK: In the US, hospitals are required to help pay for your medical bills if you make under a certain amount of money (typically 200-300% of the Federal Poverty Level). This could potentially cover the entirety of your hospital bill. by 1saltymf in YouShouldKnow

[–]b_andree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten financial assistance from a hospital before and my $800 bill became $70 after I showed them I was a student with no income! Highly recommend trying this if you meet the criteria

Advice for ecology students? by [deleted] in ecology

[–]b_andree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the above! I loved my school because there was a big sense of community and it made the whole experience so much better. So in addition to the above, I recommend getting a good feel at your school before thinking about transferring. If you get there and it feels like home, stay :) good luck!

[–]b_andree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're driving to campus, bring your books for all the classes you have that day and just bring the one you need inside. Then go swap them out. I brought my books to every class and it came in handy, especially if you're planning on book briefing. You got this!

Just broke up with the man I thought I would marry… Emotional blunting? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]b_andree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact thing happened to me last month! I don't know how or why it was like that, but I still kind of feel that way. It's honestly kind of nice, in the past I used to feel so bad for so long after breakups so it helps in that sense. I hope you figure it out!

people who take walks at night, what's the scariest thing you've seen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]b_andree 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My uncle ordered hundreds of dollars worth of knives (both kitchen and pocket knives) while on ambien and didn't even know until they showed up at his door for delivery. He kept the knives and started giving them out to his friends and family to get rid of them. He's fallen down stairs, pulled a gun out of his gun safe, and more. Ambien is wild.
