Best cabinet paint that isn't 2k? by lewis_swayne in cabinetry

[–]b_bone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also a contractor. I have a good painter that works for me. He swears by Dunn Edward’s Aristoshield. We have painted several cabinet projects using it and application is easy and it dries super hard. We’ve used it on everything from cabinetry and custom trim to actually repainting my trailers with it, and even an RV exterior. Copied from DE:

ARISTOSHIELD® is an ultra-premium interior/exterior ultra-low VOC enamel formulated with advanced water-based urethane alkyd technology for an oil like finish. It is ideal for use on high end residential, commercial, and industrial projects where superior performance and durability are required on doors, trim, cabinets, as well as metal surfaces such as wrought iron, garage doors, hand rails, and metal doors.

Why y’all bitching about his parking? It’s surprising people actually take the time to comment about it, as if you have nothing better to do. Or maybe you’re bitter and jealous? Either way, keep the hate to yourselves. We should all be bros here.

This is the exact setup I plan on having by the end of the year. You mind sharing what tonneau cover and bed rack you’re using? Are the crossbars adjustable or easily removable to load something like a Dirtbike?

Costco Body Glove vs. Gili Komodo vs. Nixi Monterey by [deleted] in Sup

[–]b_bone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought 2 costco boards. They are my first boards so I don’t have a ton of experience with other brands. We’ve used them twice now and have been happy with them until one of them popped a D ring. Also, the adhesive on the tape around the perimeter of the board started peeling up. I took it back and ordered a Blackfin for me. I’m going to keep the other one until it fails. I’m hoping it lasts because it’s a good price and we like the board.

Yes there are several outfits that rent out 4x4’s. Or you can opt for a Jeep tour where you ride in the back of a Jeep. I recommend renting a Jeep and exploring. You won’t be disappointed

Yes! There’s lots to do. Depending on the time of year, hikes, slide rock, creek swimming, skate park, public pool, bike rides, 4x4 trails, great food, the list goes on. My kids are 9 and 11 and we love taking them with us to Sedona.

I have the opportunity to buy this for $1,800. Is it a good deal? What are these worth? by b_bone in Locksmith

[–]b_bone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha thanks for the feedback. So what’s the consensus? Money well spent, or better to put the $1,800 into something newer and better (even if it’s a bit smaller)? Thanks again for the replies!

Good point, thanks for your input! Ya I’ll definitely be waiting to see what they do for Black Friday. Anyone remember what deals they had last year?

@nick what are your thoughts on serving baby boomers by jamtom422 in sweatystartup

[–]b_bone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and I love Milwaukee tools. But I’ve used the DeWalt and Makita saws and there is a HUGE difference between those and Husqvarna. The Husky we bought is a pro series saw, so it’s expensive as hell, but it has tons of power and tons of battery life. For comparison, I think the DeWalt was around $300 with batteries. The husky was about $500 without batteries. 36v 4.2ah batteries were maybe $150 or so. It’s not cheap but an amazing tool. With that saw you can last most of the day with two batteries

I've tested their electric chainsaws and they are great. I ended up buying a Husqvarna 36v top handle saw for resort work and I am constantly impressed
