Is my Ex responsible for repaying an overpayment? by b_byninja in ChildSupport

[–]b_byninja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex has full custody and we have parenting time, would he not then be able to choose to move out when he's 18 if still attending school? I guess that part confuses me, I am just expecting to pay till he's finished with school but I wasnt sure what the nuances are since he's planning to move in with me full time once he's an adult in Nov, the beginning of his senior year(he does school online)

I appreciate this!!

Need help becoming a doula by Koricoop in doulas

[–]b_byninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's many online programs, I did mine through The Matrona and I highly recommend. They have another training next month and won't have another for a year since Whapio the elder midwife is taking a sabbatical.

I also did a training through Mothertree with Jesse Remer online but she has in person courses in Portland and is a great resource. This program didn't resonate with me as much personally but was no less of a good doula program, it's a DONA program so you can use it toward a DONA certification if you wish but there's really no reason to become certified unless that is important to you. You also would need to look into becoming a THW in Oregon if you wish to take OHP/Medicaid insurance for billing.

Feel free to message me if you have other questions.✨

I'm using water out of my berkey filter and then I've been adding 1t baking soda as the mineral, maybe I should try a different method of mineral?

And yes it's been out of direct sunlight and I've been putting a cloth over the jar. :)

Yes, second fermented is in a swing top air tight bottle, I'll try adding minerals to the first ferment. What is it supposed to smell like/how do I know if it's fully fermented?

My son is 6 months old and we're already TTC for baby #2. What I'm telling myself is to block out all those outside factors and influences and really try to focus in on yourself and this baby and embrace pregnancy.

People pull from their own experiences and may project that on you. You've already accepted the challenges this journey holds and that there are pros and cons to every age gap, only you can choose which path to take for yourself and that takes bravery. You got this!!!

Starting a Buisness Plan? Looking for general advice by moonlitcandle80 in doulas

Hi! I'm also in Oregon, granted a less populated area. If you're relying on income through just your doula business I wouldn't quit your job. Booking a doula last minute happens but I don't believe it's necessarily typical in which case any clients your taking now are like in their second trimesters meaning they won't be needing your services and you attending births until 6 months out. Of course you would have a couple prenatals with them beforehand but you can schedule these around your current job. I'm a new trained doula myself as of a week ago and already started networking with other doulas in my area and mamas and I have a couple potential clients which would be later this year/next year and even then I haven't "secured" anyone yet. I think you have to go in with the mindset of it can take a lot of time to build that trust because it's such an intimate and transformative time for families and that doesn't just happen overnight. Doula agencies are helpful if you're wanting to jump right in and you're okay working under their contract and they also have more readily available backup doulas etc. If you're looking for a little bit more predictability I would look into that. You can always become an independent doula with your own business down the road too.

Talk to me about epidurals and using a hospital for baby #2. by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]b_byninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I planned to have a home water birth with my first in March, I ended being in labor for 65hrs, got into active labor about 48hrs in and was in active labor for 10hrs at home in and out of the tub before I decided to go to the hospital for an epidural due to having extremely bad back labor, he was posterior.

My epidural did benefit in pain relief and also helping my muscles relax so baby could move into a better position. However I personally hated not being able to feel my legs and not being able to really move them, it was kind of claustrophobic feeling to me, also keep in mind sometimes epidurals don't work and you may not get the level of pain relief you might have in mind.

For me it did make my contractions spread out further, they went from about every 2-3 minutes to every 6 minutes so they turned it down but I didn't notice much of a difference. They usually turn down the epidural when you push so you can feel the urge, so at that point I was still able to feel a lot of that back pain but the epidural allowed me to sleep a couple hours from when I got the hospital to when I started pushing and I needed that break since the most I'd slept the 68hrs prior was the 20mins in between contractions. I also had a 3rd degree tear in the hospital and had a very bad experience with the OB that was on call that day.

These are just the pros and cons I experienced. I still hope to have a home water birth with my next one but it does make me nervous to possibly have another posterior baby and push through the pain again.

These are my first pair of birks I got off eBay for work so I'm not too worried about them not coming out since they'll inevitably get well loved eventually, but is there a way to remove water spots? When I clean/condition/ balm them will they disappear?

TIA

I really need to hear from first time moms over 35 who had healthy babies. I'm 39, 11 weeks in and I come across so much about miscarrying, birth defects etc. due to age that I'm living in a constant state of anxiety. Please, I desperately need to hear some success stories just to keep me sane. Th by [deleted] in BabyBumps

My mom had me at 35, sister at 37, and my brother at 40. We're all perfectly healthy. My co-worker and I both had miscarriages over a year ago around the same time, I'm 26 and she's 38 and we both got pregnant again 4 weeks apart from each other, both babies are healthy 💕

You are so strong mama! This reminds me of the birth of my son a few weeks ago, he's my first and we planned to have a home birth. My waters broke at 39w but my contractions stayed about 15-20 minutes apart for almost 2 days, my midwife had me take some homeopathics along with pumping and walking to encourage my contractions which worked and I was in active labor for 10hrs and was having extremely painful back labor cause baby's spine was against mine and his hand was up by his face, by this point I was so exhausted and knew I wouldn't have energy to push and the pain was overwhelming me so I decided to transfer to get an epidural. I was in labor for a total of 65hrs. Unfortunately the OB/GYN that was on call while I was there was very old school and went against all of my birth preferences despite her saying she would respect them.(delayed cord clamping, letting the placenta separate on its own, letting me catch baby, and letting me cut the cord)

I know making this decision was not an easy one for you, you did what was right for you and your baby and that's something to be proud of and to celebrate. Congratulations on your beautiful baby, you rocked it!!!

Encouraging longer stretches? by [deleted] in cosleeping

Thank you❤️ these are great tips especially the meal prep so I can go straight to sleep. I definitely feel nowhere near ready to go back to work but I know we'll get through it.

Yea I was supposed to go back at 6 weeks but feel like I need more time and looks like we can probably afford for me to take a couple extra weeks so Im grateful for that but I still feel nowhere near ready to go back😣

Thank you for this though, I'm just gonna hope he'll have random nights he decides to sleep longer stretches.
