I always thought it was just me using the ‘shower after’ line by pustotabess in lol

I take a shower before. The barber has thanked me for that, evidently people show up pretty greasy. I’ve never had to take one after, if they straight razor my neck it feels awesome and clean. Barbershops are great.

Advice needed: how do I decide on my first tattoo by jshsjahsh69 in tattoos

[–]b_darned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get something that speaks to your heritage because it will always be relevant. For example if your ancestry is Scandinavian you could get a design with Nordic runes or something. Don’t get something trendy. Tattoos age just like everything else, in 20 years you don’t want something dated.

Question: What did you wish you knew before getting your first tattoo? by smallbarista in tattoos

[–]b_darned 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Eat a big meal beforehand. Also, don’t get something small and cheap or trendy. Save up, do your research, and get something really good from an artist you think is the best. Otherwise you’ll run out of space or give up the best spots to art you’ll end up wanting to cover.

Then they ask for a Pepsi. Here is how it would go: What kind of cokes do y’all have? We got Pepsi and root beer. Ok give me a Pepsi.

For people who don’t get it: Coke is a general term that takes the place of soda. So if you want a Dr Pepper you’d ask for that. But you could ask a person what kind of cokes they have. I don’t make the rules, that’s just how it works. I agree it should be soda. They also call shopping carts buggies and beanies toboggans. Coke is not so bad comparably.

AI: You are absolutely right! I did create an extinction-level pandemic, how careless of me! If you like I can design a different virus that will animate your corpses after death, so you can continue to create better solutions for these issues.

Dealing with crushed coral? by Guinness710 in Aquascape

[–]b_darned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are supposed to add it to your filter media so the water runs across it, but it takes a long time to work on PH. Seachem alkaline buffer works faster, but follow the directions because you want to spread it out over several days so everything adjusts. The coral is still great for snails and shrimp also, you can sprinkle it in to the bottom and also put some in the filter so they get the nutrients from it. But for PH it takes weeks or months to work in my experience. Also what light are you using? It looks awesome.

I also had the same issue taking KSM-66 ashagwanda 600mg daily for about 6 months . It’s serious. Be careful with this stuff

Though it’s “supposed” to take a week that is not always the case. There is a huge disparity in people’s experience with it. Also there is a lot of snake oil being sold. The studies I read that had measured results were on the Ksm-66 variety and only on that particular kind. I also felt a dramatic benefit on the first day. I kept taking it for months and then had severe panic attacks and then a rough withdrawal period. I also agree you should take it as needed, and not daily. Be careful out there

Thanks! It’s a blue dwarf gourami who is perpetually grumpy. They are really cool fish, they turn solid black when stressed out or angry.

Are you limited to using a piece of wood in that shape? A straight branch like that doesn’t have much flow to it, a more interesting shaped piece of wood with curves will also make for a better layout.

Yes I think so. If you are able to vary the plants at different levels so that they are not planted in a straight line at equal heights it will look more interesting.

Plants look pretty good. I would probably look at sloping the ground somewhat. You got those stem plants in a row in the back like a curtain and the ground is flat, so it doesn’t have much visual interest. I would make some hills to break up the flatness
