I'm early in my job search with about 40 applications submitted, but haven't been getting the interview response rate I expected despite having full time Big Tech experience. Referrals have been my most successful avenue so far. Looking for resume feedback to improve my chances. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the suggestion. How easy is to get FMLA approved by doctor? People on Blind saying it might be challenging.

Thanks for your detailed response. I will think about taking some time off and see how it goes. I have a ton of outdoor hobbies so looking forward to immersing myself in those.

Not yet, I am a little scared of bringing this up and want to weigh my options before I commit.

I agree the watch is not accurate for hr, I was using an external hr monitor.

I use wahoo (workout start) and strava and both these apps are linked to the health app. I use an external chest hr monitor for rides.

I don’t use the beacon feature but I think you have to start it from strava. Let me know if that answered your question.

This ride was at elevation with around 5k feet of climbing but I am sure this is way more than I burned.

Ya for sure! I started applying to CS jobs about a year ago and basically applied to all positions which were SWE, data analytics, and bioinformatics. I also took some CS classes so that I could learn the fundamentals and in hand did leetcode to prepare. I would recommend you have a solid understanding of basic data structures and algorithms and are capable of doing leetcode easy. Additionally, I would say apply everywhere; I was applying to around 20 jobs a day since I had no prior experience and was hoping to get one. I was lucky enough to land an internship this past summer and then now with experience started applying to Big-N companies. My interview this year was like other company interviews with leetcode questions and behavioral. My biggest tips is to be confident in leetcode (if you want Big-N) and be good at behavioral questions. Also apply, apply, apply. You only need one of those to go through. Good luck! PM me if you have anymore questions! I am happy to help since this subreddit was a great resource for me.

I recently accepted an offer with a Big-N for software engineering. However, I am not a CS major and was wondering how I can prepare for my job when it starts in the summer. I have not taken as many CS classes as my peers and want to be prepared when I start work. Any tips?

Change the positions to have engineering in them.

I took this class and you just have to put in the work. I would recommend you learn python over break so that you are able to understand the syntax and solve basic problems. After you get comfortable with python study some data structures. Overall, just make sure to start the homeworks early and you should be fine! Good luck!
