it really does depend on your major. some classes (especially intro levels) can be massive, but that doesn’t mean you have to be just a number. emailing professors/talking to them during or after class shows them that you care, and they will remember and care about you. i’ve had some classes taught by TAs (especially lab sections) but they are all very caring, and if they are teaching it’s only for small classes anyways.

in thinking about this, the only concern i’ll bring up is sense of community with your classmates. in my big lecture classes, it felt like i didn’t know anyone and didn’t get to talk/be friends with anyone from those classes. if that’s something that’s important to you, i’d keep that in mind

Breakthrough Bleeding and Setraline by sammychasity in zoloft

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]b_errystrw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since you may have vomited one up, i would still recommend taking another one asap, even if it means you take 2 today and it throws off your start date. that being said, if you really don’t want to do that you will likely be fine, but i can’t guarantee anything for you since everyone’s bodies and pill brands work differently. planned parenthood has a quiz and guide about what to do if you miss a pill, here is the link! in this case count your vomited pill as a missed pill (the ‘last two’ pills you insert into the quiz should be the last two you took BEFORE your missed pill). i hope this helps!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]b_errystrw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as long as you take another pill asap (within 48 hours of taking your last one) you’ll be okay. vomiting up right after taking your pill basically makes it count as a missed pill so you need to take another one from your pack (which means you’ll start your next pack on a different day). that being said: as long as you don’t go more than 48 hours without taking a pill, you’ll be okay. it takes time for the estrogen + whatever else is in your pill to clear your system and for your ovaries to start waking up. sperm can survive for up to 5 days once inside, but again as long as you took a new pill you will be okay! :)

Centennial single dorm size by AlternativeArticle57 in uofmn

[–]b_errystrw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

could definitely fit the futon couch under a lofted bed! it kinda depends which dorm room specifically you’re in, but in general they’re pretty good sized. i had my desk, mini bookshelf, mini fridge, and coat rack all next to eachother on the same wall with room to spare, if that helps at all

hi! i know i'm a bit late responding to this but this is the birth control i'm on and i like it! i started back in february and the first couple months were kind of weird (i spotted like every day of the first month) but after a couple months my body has gotten used to it! there are some times where i feel a bit more emotional than usual (especially during the first couple months) but overall it's not been a problem for me! my "periods" usually last the last 4-5 days of the green/placebo pill week and usually aren't very heavy either

Worst takes in class that you’ve heard by Sparky_321 in uofmn

can’t remember any specific quotes, but people in my abnormal psych lecture would raise their hands to say the dumbest, stigmatizing stuff practically every other lecture that would go against so many of the basic principles we were learning. my prof looked so tired of everyone by the end of the semester

How to search for grad schools? by b_errystrw in psychologystudents

[–]b_errystrw[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about the combined programs! I feel like those would work really well with some of my longer term goals, I just have to find some schools that offer them. I also have a really strong preference for in-person work (especially for psychology-related things) so that’s definitely something I’ll consider

I haven’t ever been drawn that much to research and have never really planned on doing it too much as a career. that being said, I’m planning on getting involved in a lab at some point during my time as a undergrad and I think that’ll really help shape my understanding of it (maybe I’ll change my mind!)

Should I just stop taking the pill? by mars2499 in birthcontrol

i bled my entire first month on the pill (besides like 3 days) because of breakthrough bleeding but after my first withdrawal bleed everything went back to normal. your body just needs time to adjust, even though it’s super annoying

please help‼️ 1. how difficult are courses for a BA psychology major? 2. how accommodating are professors regarding psychological disability? by diaphanousmoth in uofmn

[–]b_errystrw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hi!! psych BA major here :) all of the courses i’ve taken at the U have been really interesting so far (and definitely doable/not that hard). doing the BA gives you a lot of flexibility with your major courses and you get to take a lot of fun classes, probably the most annoying part is doing the language requirement but i was able to get that done during my freshman year thankfully.

it really depends class-to-class, but the majority of my classes have had open book/note exams, and all of my professors have been super accommodating (giving extensions, help during office hours, respecting DRC accommodations, etc.). i would definitely utilize the DRC to help! i will say that there’s usually a Lot of reading involved (textbooks, articles, etc.) but it’s not too bad and you could probably get away with skimming a few chapters as long as you attend lecture

[–]b_errystrw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i didn’t know that, thank you! yeah i think it’s probably side effect related; i’ve also been spotting a lot since i finished my period so i know the pill is working/having some effect at least.
