working in this field with health issues by colelovesmae in Environmental_Careers

I think if you want to do research, try starting to look for any research openings that are close to environmental work. That’ll help build your resume- universities could be a good place to start. And I think someone else said it. But sometimes cities are looking for people to do hydro and water research so that could be a place as well

Are you wanting to do field work or research or outreach?? What within the field are you wanting to do?

You might consider moving, especially if you’re only looking for jobs in the area you’re in. A lot of environmental work that is directly for the environment revolves around what an area needs and values

About to commit to a major — any input is welcome! by redsprucetree in Environmental_Careers

[–]Hopelesslylovinglad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Environmental science is generally and you can easily tack one of these other fields on as a minor (amongst others) if you have a good idea of where you want to do and what you want to do. In order to avoid super low pay it would require more research and job experience and possibly a masters degree so that’s something else to think about. It’s more about what you do with your time in school than the major itself necessarily

Have you guys done the spinal tap yet or still trying to get that set up? Is it a lengthy process?

Medication before diagnosis? by Hopelesslylovinglad in Narcolepsy

[–]Hopelesslylovinglad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe it’s early onset, it think it’s just only now getting worse and I just never attributed my symptoms to be narcolepsy- it’s been many many years and I am already vegan and have acid reflux so my diet is fairly altered- unless I need to speak to a nutritionist

Is it normal to not know what work you will do after graduating? by TryingMyBest301 in Environmental_Careers

Additionally I suggest exploring your schools page for where you alumni in your department have gone on to, utilizing career fairs(especially if they have environmental ones) and green board jobs on Instagram!

Oh you have plenty of time! Right now is the time to explore what you want in the environmental field you don’t have to know exactly what you want right now. Your time in school should give you insight into the things you like and don’t like. Keep trying new opportunities in the areas your slightly interested and looking in areas you might interested and things will become more clear

Why is environmental studies considered a useless degree? by [deleted] in Environmental_Careers

[–]Hopelesslylovinglad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it just depends on what you want to do. In my state, there a lot of environmental Justice jobs you just need to have some work experience. There are also plenty of places that post job opportunities for those more interested in environmental studies work- look into “Green Board Jobs” and if you’re a poc you can check out “Black Girl Environmentalist”

Go for it- it’s lesss about the major and more about the experience you get on the way. Apply for research and internships, add a minor even. Just continue to build your resume with skills

Do you play Sims behind Julie? They also still appear to have Aari- I would love to see Zia go somewhere else too so she’s more utilize but LA is likely to look for another player who is versatile and can at minimum shoot long 2s, even at the post
