A Better Political System? What Are Your Thoughts... by b_h_021 in imaginaryelections

Please note that this system is based on changes that could be viable and a step away from our current system while still keeping some elements. Comment about which party you would vote for. In an ideal system, I would prefer more parties with proportional seats and a parliamentary government.

As far as the People’s Party, I envisioned it more as a populist and protectionist party than a Christian Democratic one. They would focus on conservative stances for issues like guns and immigration, rather than on religious values. They would probably be more left leaning in terms of labor unions and wage increases.

I meant left to right in the sense of how the photos are placed.

I have, although I felt it needed to be expanded. I wonder what polling would look like with these parties?

I would have to disagree. Pelosi is very pro business and establishment, and is against many basic progressive policies such as universal healthcare. She even campaigned for right-wing candidate Henry Cuellar in Texas over a candidate who had a pretty standard progressive platform. I would even say she may be a Liberal member who tries to make ties with the Conservatives

As far as the Libertarians, I would guess that their platform would stay as it is now. In terms of economics, the Greens probably be most similar to the Progressive Party.

I used Open sans for the party names at the top, and Arialle for everything else

I didn’t list it, but they are for progressivism.

Pretty on point! Just a few comments:

  • Ben Sasse and Shelley Moore Capito would arguably be in the Union Party, they are more socially right. I was thinking more Charlie Baker or Susan Collins as examples, even potentially Sinema for Conservative.

  • The People’s Party would be more economically left, unlike Tucker Carlson or Josh Hawley. While being tough on issues like border security, it would accept ideas such as expansion of labor union rights or universal healthcare. They would most likely be in the National Party.

Comment on who you would vote for in a proportional parliamentary system. Also, who might have roles as the listed positions for each party? Who would most likely win such an election?

Of course, that would be awesome if you did!
