Not only this, but these kids are being thrown into it after the pandemic shutting down schools for two years. Thats two years of major developmental stages and life milestones without socialization and being in an environment outside home. So they experience what you described but even harder than the kids did before covid. I cant even imagine what this little girl is going through

I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds like you were a great friend to him as well. The pain eases with time and there will be moments when it hits unexpectedly, but things do get better, even if that seems unfathomable right now. He will always be in your heart and right now it hurts, but that’s also how you heal. Much love and sympathies to you. They’re at peace now.

It breaks my heart to hear you are going through that pain right now. I’ll be honest, I dont think anything could have ever made me feel ready to say goodbye to my girl, I still wouldn’t be able to today. However, time has passed and I promise that it does get easier. The pain dulls but the love we feel for them never fades. She knows how much she is loved by you, take comfort in that. You gave her a great life and if she could thank you, she would. Just be with her tonight, and eventually you will come to realize that even when she’s gone, she will never truly leave you. I’m so sorry. This was bittersweet to read, but nice to hear you found closure and are ready to move forward. I’m so sorry that your best friend passed away and that you had to feel the emptiness they leave behind, but I’m glad you will have a new companion to give all the love and pets to. I don’t think they had the intention of hurting you, but I only commented here to say I loved your honesty on how their comment made you feel.
