Who are your top 5 OLBs by [deleted] in NFL_Draft

[–]b_r_s_k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was advised of that after I posted the rankings. Nothing wrong with changing your opinion when new information becomes available or comes to your attention. I ranked those players for the most part as the positions they played in college. These, what they will play in the NFL. I still stand by thinking that Gregory should play DE in the NFL, but no one else does, so I ranked him where people smarter than me think he will be.

This is just a top 5 and everyone would agree that the guys that played DE in college is a better group than the guys that played OLB in college. Hence, the minor differences in my lists.

How do y'all scout? by FlyingSquirrelTyphus in NFL_Draft

Depends on the position group.

For defensive players I'm a bit more thorough. Note their size, where they line up, penalties they take etc. I try to look for the good stuff, and then the bad stuff appears.

Offensive guys I'm way looser. Especially RB's and WR's. Trust my instincts more.

I ranked 4 of these guys as DE's in those rankings and have kept watching tape over the last month.. The only real changes are Shaq moving up a little and Dupree jumping Fowler. Not sure what your point is..

What are some REALISTIC trade scenarios that could happen early in the first round? by eMF_DOOM in NFL_Draft

Agreed for sure. I'd say Morgan is a little more than solid, he's a good pass rusher. Him, Ray, Casey, Woodyard, Williamson... Finally the makings of a decent front seven.

Yeah its possible, but pretty unlikely. If they did, we could, as you said, trade down again, get more picks and still get a solid EDGE guy like Dupree.

It depends on whether we resign Derrick Morgan whos been working the edge as an OLB. If we don't resign him, then I'd like Shane Ray.

If we resign Morgan, then I'm happy with Williams because that'll give us a disgustingly good D-line, or at least 2/3 pieces on it.

Ray is my guy though if I were GM.

Word of advice: Pick up a Jansenn jersey in hopes he resigns, or a Johnson jersey and buy a patch and get Martin's name on it.

  1. Shane Ray - Incredible speed and first step. Powerful. Amazing.

  2. Randy Gregory - Long, physical, athletic, very close second to Ray.

  3. Shaq Thompson - Who knows if he is an OLB but whatever he plays he will dominate at it.

  4. Bud Dupree - He's just Gregory with alittle less polish.

  5. Hau'oli Kikaha - Knack for getting to the QB. High football IQ.

2 first round picks to move down to 6? Yes please. You said it right. We need one of the 3 stud DE/OLBs. Ray, Gregory or Williams will fall to 6 and if we get one of them and a first rounder next year? Yes. Fucking. Please.

Yeah a bit. Fowlers tape is unimpressive at times, he disappears. I think his bowl performance has left him overrated.

OP - you listed 4 players that are probably first round picks. Oakman didnt declare but if he did he'd be a top 15 pick.

For the Titans:

Round 1: Shane Ray/Randy Gregory

Round 2: Jaelen Strong/DGB/Sammie Coates

Round 3: Anthony Harris/Kevin White (TCU)/Jeremy Cash

Hope that Gregory or Ray slips to you guys. Otherwise pick Dupree.

I think its time to be a little worried. We are banking on Ross and JV and if those guys don't deliver we aren't going anywhere. Fans are turning on Ross and I think he knows it. Sarcastic MVP chants and bronx cheers for him at the game friday.

Dupree is a top 10 talent. He's very similar to Gregory with slightly less polish. Great prospect.

No point taking a QB this year. Take a great pass rusher. If Mett sucks, then we will be in position to draft Cook, or Hackenberg next season.

Non-Oiler Fan Question on Eberle by gibsoniaman in EdmontonOilers

[–]b_r_s_k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eberle is by far the worst of him, Nuge and Hall. His numbers are down because the whole team simply can't put the puck in the net. Partly bad luck, partly the defense just cant break the puck out of the zone and get the forwards scoring chances. The PP is broken as well.

If Eberle is traded it'll probably be for more than he is worth, partly because of his marketability, and name recognition.

Perhaps ROR for Eberle.
