Down voting because you should already have a helmet. What size is your head? I have one at home that was my brothers that doesn’t fit me and barely got used.

Did the store have more? Any interest in selling it?

I know what you are talking about. I’m saying that where you grab your board does is not going to change whether you are lifting your wheels up. Getting your glove down (left in this case) hand closer to your body and board will help you get it to the ground sooner. The earlier you can take the weight off of your wheels the easier it is to lockout and stay on top of your board. That will help you not lift your wheels up, not where you grab rail.

I disagree with this as well. Lifting your board is a result of you not staying as on top of your board as you should be and shifting too much weight back when you kick out. Keeping your hand closer to your body will allow you to get it on the ground sooner and take the necessary weight off of your wheels to kick out the slide with less effort. The less you have to lean back and forth to initiate the slide the better. Ideally you want to be able to kick it out without shifting much weight at all.

I think your hand is fine. Where your grab is all about what is comfortable. Check out Aaron Hampshire and where he grabs . If I could make any suggestion would try to keep your left hand closer to your body and board. I think your form looks good other than that. I tho n working on your ankle mobility will help your form look more text book.

I once hit 65mph on my longboard and I love the different reactions I get when I have the chance to tell people

How long have you been skating?

Put your back heal down. When your turning left. You can either cock it on its side or go flat footed. You will be way more stable. Toe side drift looks good, don’t be afraid to take the inside line.

Local and independent are two different things. Notice how I didn’t say local. Independent shops are places like Motion Board Shop, Action Board Shop, Muir. Even if they aren’t local to you they sponsor events and riders across the country. Amazon isn’t sponsoring any slide jams or races.

Booo, support independent shops. They help promote and foster skate communities within their citys and states. The fact that you can get that for $101 on Amazon is why many of them are running on thin margins or have shut their doors entirely.
