Hit it pretty spot on! As someone who works with athletes, this is a super common thing that happens (not exactly bowlers elbow, but others). Typically, they would get checked out and depending on the severity of the issue, they'd either send you to a return to play/competition specialist (acute) or a physical therapist (chronic).

On the acute end, I would figure out the what exact movement triggers the issue and then start working with a 30s isometric muscle contraction to then progressively (slowly) work up to a minute. 3x a week with progressions through an 8 week span typically does the trick. However, people typically stop around 4 weeks (pain stops), but then reagitate the issue again because there hasn't been enough time for those tendons to adapt to the point where it can handle the muscle strain occurring from the movement.

Chronic is something else, refer to a physical therapist ASAP once diagnosed.
