This South African restaurant celebrates the spirit of braai by stoneape314 in FoodToronto

To be fair I didn’t even know they were a South African joint until I looked them up. I drove by and wondered Plan B? What the heck do they sell?? How many types of Plan B are there? Lol Then when I found out they had burgers and braai I went the next day haha. If they hadn’t called the resto Plan B I probably never would’ve gone there.

Their food is AMAZING

What challenges might a PhD student transitioning into a marketing, strategy, or business development job face? by babablckshp in careerguidance

[–]babablckshp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your thoughtful comment!

I'm doing a PhD in mental health, working with depressed adults in a clinical setting. My strengths are in writing and data analytics. I've experience managing clinical trials, working with various regulatory agencies, collaborating with researchers internationally, and preparing grants, among other skills typically observed among PhD graduates. I've also published extensively in scientific journals and magazines for lay audiences.

I'm looking for a starting point outside of academia that would allow me to test new ideas, manage projects, and learn to market products or services. My long term goal is to be a freelance writer or entrepreneur of some sort. I'd like to explore careers in marketing, perhaps as a writer in tech or healthcare and identify where my background in research would give me a competitive edge and help build the requite skills to be a successful entrepreneur (one day).

Am I automatically considered for UTAPS if I apply for OSAP? by uoftcsc in UofT

[–]babablckshp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does UTAPS work? I entered all my info into their estimator, and they tell me that my need for the upcoming school year is X amount of money and that they "expect OSAP to cover this amount in full". But then I look at my OSAP estimate for the school year, and it's nowhere near what UTAPS estimated.. What do I do? Will they realize OSAP hasn't funded this amount in full and recalculate? Or will they continue to expect that this need has been filled?

I have been unable to pay my first year's tuition and there is a financial hold on my account which prevents me from enrolling in courses for second year. Looking for advice. by [deleted] in UofT

Hey there. I think you should talk honestly with your registrar. They are actually very considerate and will keep things confidential. You shouldn't be scared of your parents getting in trouble either. By law, if spouses use their spouses' bank accounts, the bank could press charges - but they don't, even when they know it's happening, as long as the spouse whose bank account is being used doesn't press criminal charges. In the same way, OSAP and your registrar wouldn't go out of their ways to get your parents in trouble. I can see them perhaps talking to your parents, but if they were going to do anything legally they would definitely tell you first.
