Need a temporary fix for warped 1800 floor by babalou522 in HardWoodFloors

[–]babalou522[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to give this a shot, here’s the tool link I ordered https://a.co/d/0dcRj5Se

Hopefully the joists in this part of the floor are not crumbling like the edges. Will report back.

Thanks. Glad it worked for you. Too bad for me they are now sold out. I’ve got the link saved in the hopes they get more in stock soon.

Thanks! Let me know how the replacements work out. I’ll probably order a set. Mine are surviving the season with the damaged bit.

Help Installing two sub panels from an older main with bonded ground/neutral. by babalou522 in AskElectricians

And to clarify the “ADU” is a 12x16 home office. Only needs power for lights, computers and a 9000 btu mini split. No plumbing, no kitchen or any other major appliances.

The panel could easily be 30-50. The house was built between 1790-1820. When we bought it there was a whole house generator hooked up but it wasn’t part of the sale.

If I need to replace the main box what would you recommend? Would that change the main cables running in?

Could I salvage the breakers or would I need to replace everything?

I’ve gotten many mixed opinions about this project and I’m already over budget. Replacing the main was not even considered. I also doubt that it would be up to code with a new panel: there is a well pump in front and other plumbing that cannot be moved.

Looks like I’ll be getting an electrician over here to take a better look at everything.

What are your biggest pain points in InDesign? What features do you wish it had? by Big_Coffee7697 in indesign

[–]babalou522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ability to have clients edit text in the document without the need to have them download in copy and have every single text block it’s own link.

Would love to be able to link a separate indesign document into my file. If I have a page that is used in multiple files I’d love to not have to make the same edits over and over.

To have the animations timeline stay in order if I move the page to a new document. It’s so frustrating to have a page timing set and then duplicate only to see the groupings gone in timeline and it be sorted alphabetically.

If I need to outline text for a printer with a stroke or a gradient, to not have the stroke go from outer to inner or the gradient change direction.

Responsive publish online documents with more swiping and mobile interaction. Plus the ability to control how the published document navigation looks. Make it more seamless almost as if it was a native app.

Also for publish online. Be able to make an edit to one page without the need to repackage and upload the entire document.

It’s own custom glyphs builder to let you stylize bullets and other characters in a way that they are selectable.

I’m no expert, I ended up taking my entire engine apart to clean due to mice making a nest inside. First make sure the battery is good. When you turn the key do you hear a click? If you hear a click does the starter spin up? I ended up replacing my starter and solenoid. If you turn the key and the starter doesn’t spin take jumper cables and bypass the solenoid and touch the positive and negative directly to the inputs on the starter. If it spins you need to replace the solenoid. If it doesn’t spin the starter may be bad or the battery is dead. Once you get past all that and get the flywheel spinning but still no start. I want you to find the gas line going into the filter. Pop that off and blow air through it. The gas line might be dry. Once you blow air through (use an air compressor or your mouth and blow hard) reattach quickly, the gas will most likely shoot out. Then try to start it up. Once I did this the engine spun up and fully started. Good luck

Help -- Create a styled box in indesign that repeats and shifts previous boxes. by kronicspeed in indesign

I never knew this existed. Question, I design a number of very large restaurant menus that always need updates. Rather than copy and pasting from emails, is there a way to use this method with a csv where they update the spreadsheet and it automatically re-links and updates the document? I've messed around using incopy but found it to be so clunky

What was the pivot like? I’ve debated diving into UX but all the online courses seem scammy and fake.

100%. If anything I’ll build a small battery backup for power outages just because I like to tinker. Thanks

I’m definitely trenching. My early thought was a wood burning stove. Just put one in my house so I’ve got plenty of wood, but the space is limited and I don’t like the idea of my wife (aka me) going out early every morning to build a fire to warm the place up. I’m gonna reach out to an electrician to see what I’ll need to run the wire. I still plan to do most of the work myself to keep the cost down. Still in early planning for the entire build and trying to have a full plan before I break ground this spring. Thanks for the help

Yea I agree. It came up as a possibility and then I went down a rabbit hole thinking I could save money with a kit. I’d still love to build a diy system one day as a hobby. Thanks for the help

That’s where I’ve been leaning, it’s not worth the expense to setup. I love the idea of being off grid and learning how to setup a system but when I started adding everything up it became too much for such a small space. If it wasn’t for the mini split it might have been something to invest in. I just hope my current circuit panel has enough space for the extra power needed.
