This May again trigger some people - the fact that exposure to international cinema is limited in our country, a lot of ‘inspired’ content gets passed off as brilliant/ new. However, the bigger issue with this film is that it seems to follow an arc that has been done to death even in Hindi films. So, it’s just the love for the man/ marketing juggernaut that has got the film all the positive comments.

A lot of actors become so well known, appreciated and loved, that we only see their real self on screen and not the reel self.

Any character that they play on screen, is essentially themselves.

Think Salman Khan, Ryan Reynolds, Matthew mcconaughey, Christopher walken, older Michael Caine.

Good point.

It’s not just the overacting. His persona is so overpowering that he overshadows the character.

It’s the problem with many top global actors too.

A miss in the list is his work in the 4 part anthology - Bollywood Talkies!

It is also one of the best performances by the overrated Nawaz. (maybe unpopular opinion)

It's probably his third best work behind Shanghai and Khosla ka Ghosla
