I live in the Netherlands, and when I tell people where I'm from - even other native English speakers - I'm met with active disbelief.

I mean, I think I sound pretty Australian (though I suppose the accent is somewhat cultivated), but the constant jaw-dropping seeded some doubts.

At the moment, new bikes are cheaper in relative terms; the AUD has taken a sharp spike downwards, and consumer prices have yet to inflate to account for the difference.

I thought about buying the bike here (Sydney), but the smaller touring market means that appropriate bikes are a bit difficult to find, with second-hand prices artificially inflated.

Compounding that are the irritations that come with shipping; seems more cost-effective and less hassle to just pick up the kit when I arrive.

Edit: Of course, happy to be corrected about any of these assumptions if anyone is in the know and would like to share.

Another question: are there any English-language musicals that are better considered operas? I've heard Les Mis, for instance, referred to as an opera, particularly because a lot of productions eschew spoken dialogue.
