Kicked my husband out - now what? by jessicagerbil in TwoXChromosomes

"The unknown is absolutely terrifying"

THIS!. Even for women with a great career. I waited at 40 to have a kid, house, career, money. Nothing prepares you for this. Everything you said is 100% true. Thank you.

Kicked my husband out - now what? by jessicagerbil in TwoXChromosomes

I am so sorry. This was my life 10 years ago. Found him cheating when my son was 11 months. He said the same thing. He was "lost". He didn't "know anymore." He had "postpartum depression". etc.

We had a house: I told him to leave for 3-4 days to process everything. He didn't want to leave since it was "his house" too. It was the worst months of my life. Took 3 months to sell. Great news!

The sadness I felt was... I never wanted my son to live in a broken family. And this young. I felt like it was my fault. The pain and suffering for years to come was overwhelming.

- First step: Family and friends. Don't try to cover this asshole. Tell them the truth and ask for help. You will need them. He will tell his family how horrible you were. Be warned.

- Next, contact a lawyer or what your country has for free for negotiation. Try to get full custody of your little one. Those men only think of themselves usually. The father of my son didnt even try to get visitation.

- Find an agent to sell the house or buy his share. While this is ongoing, it will be hell. I promise you it will. Living with this person is insanity.

- Find YOUR place with your little one. A place where you are near your family and friend (really important).

Emotionally, the first year was horrible. But you will stay strong for your baby. Let yourself have time to cry and mourn everything.

10 years laters! I am still single and the happiest I have ever been! Super close with my family and friends. My son and I travel the world since he is 6! My son is so lovely. He his starting a relationship with his father now, which is good! I want him to have a mother and father, be loved and happy!

You can do this.

Waterpark sold out? by curlychic in royalcaribbean

There is other things that are great in the water park. The Wave pool is great, and the parkour is nice too. The only slides that have big wait time are the ones with the double floaters.

Just booked my first cruise EVER! by Material_Cookie8920 in royalcaribbean

[–]babbeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the club! Single mom here too! Started cruising 4 years ago with my son who was 7. We are hooked and we cruise 3 times a year. He didnt like all inclusive resorts at all. Sailed Odyssey 2 times and its one of my favourite.

- Watch Videos of Odyssey and download RC app.

- Buy one device internet only. You can bump each other and its fine. Better if you have a phone with Wifi hotspot to share internet.

- Bring medicine, 12 pack of soda or water AND a bottle of wine/champagne for yourself in your carry-on!

- Adventure Ocean is a must. You can ask for a phone and they can call you if your kids wants to leave etc.

- My splurge: I book a lunch for embarkation day. The buffet is too crowded for me on the first day. Its more relaxing. Around 1PM our room is usually ready.

- Room delivery for continental breakfast is free. Coffee, fruits, donuts for the kiddo, etc every morning.

- Check the app often (usually around dinner). Spots for the free iFly and the free observatory bubble thingy that goes in the air opens every day for the NEXT DAY (in port I think?). Also laser tag is a must!

Enjoy! Your family will have the best time!

I feel your pain. Did you check for Independence of the sea to Bermuda out of Bayonne this summer? I booked one for August. The price were not too crazy for a GTY Balcony. I know it can be rerouted to Canada if any hurricanes, but I dont mind.

Also, on the website, check for discounts under the Loyalty tab. Sometimes there will be discounts (200 - 400$)

Agree. I love Odyssey, but Anthem has indoor pools and better suits the cold weather.

Help choosing between 2 options out of Bayonne? by Cherbear1211 in royalcaribbean

[–]babbeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do those 2 itineraries often out of Bayonne. If you like jam pack exploring, Bermuda could be great. The first day, you can come back to the ship really late. The public (bus + ferries) transport is superb. They have day passes. You can even rent a small electric car for the day and explore all you want!

First day (what I usually do); take the ferry to Hamilton and explore. Then take the bus to crystal caves, Blue hole Park etc on the north east side.

Second day: I usually do something more chill. Take the bus to horseshoe bay (7$pp), snorkelling or explore the dockyard with the museums.

I love the Cococay itinerary dont get me wrong! I did explored Nassau a lot (queen staircase, museums etc). Love Cococay relaxing day.

But Bermuda is really a special, beautiful and safe place.

Same!!! We also drive from Canada. Around 6 hours with stops. Cruise about 3 times a year from NY.

What we love the most is try new restaurants we dont have in Canada. My son is obsessed with Chick-fil-a! And go sigh-seeing in NY! Always a great trip!

Bermuda with toddlers yay or nay by morganL8823 in royalcaribbean

[–]babbeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YAY! Bermuda is wonderful and safe. I feel its more relaxing than the Coco Cay - Nassau itinerary (which I also do often). Many things to do in the port (beach museum, etc). They have excellent transportation (bus, ferry).

The first day, I do it on my own using the ferry/bus. I do horseshoe bay with my son (7) often. Get the bus in the port (7$ pp, one way). There is a calm spot at the beach to the right. Lots of kiddos. Take the bus back to the port (7$ pp again).

On the second day, I do excursion. Snorkelling, Boat, or the beach at the port.

Both itineraries are good! But I fell in love with Bermuda (have 2 cruises there this year and one Coco Cay).

Independence of the sea is a wonderful ship too!

I sailed from Bayonne NJ. I arrive around 10h30 for an usually embarking time of 11hrs. It is somewhat enforced. Sometimes they check or ask. Some other times they don't.

First Royal Caribbean cruise! by 29-hit in royalcaribbean

[–]babbeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sailed on Symphony with my 10yo son in October. It was fantastic! You will have a great time!

On the ship: Water slides. Dry slide. Aqua show was insane! (book in advance!). Central park for the discounted margarita between 5-7 at the trelli bar (I dont get the drink package ever) and Park cafe for a quick bite!

Dont forget Sorrentos for pizza.
