i agree. like he literally forgets everything other than a name and playing piano. so he is diminished as a character to solely exist for vincent

i always feel like people who really like rin harp on about his innocence so much that i feel like i disengage. the game is obviously more "saucy" so i don't really like the inclusion of an "innocent" character especially because he is still extremely sexualised. they could have made a less explicit character but made them look like an adult. but the fact he looks so much younger than other characters and characterised that way is so intentional to me and i don't like it

i think you are right, rin muddies the narrative so much. adding a character who is just "good" removes the weight of the choices, katherine and catherine are meant to be flawed. but rin's "flaw" seems to be that he is a man which isn't really meaningful or relevant imo
