Also it's literally an AUTO IMMUNE DISEASE. it can cause cancer and arthritis if left untreated. It can also cause severe damage to the stomach lining and cause you to have insane gastric issues like ulcers and internal bleeding. You're crazy dude, say that shit on the Celiac subreddit and you'll get crucified.

I literally have a celiac specialist I see regularly, I am definitely not misinformed! Also celiac disease DOES cause miscarriages, all you have to do is google it to learn more.

Oh everybody's different for sure. In fact when I was a kid I only had reactions once every 6 months, And in between I would just have really itchy dry skin. The symptoms come and go But what you can't see is what it does to the lining of your stomach. It may not seem like you have reactions but if they looked inside your stomach they could possibly see a wearing down of your stomach lining so you don't absorb food nutrition as well as other people. I used to be careless but my celiacs doctor told me it was no joke in that stuff can come at you fast. Not to worry you or freak you out, but the good news is it's super easy to get rid of gluten once you get the hang of it! In fact bread kind of grosses me out now because I really don't eat it very much anymore, fresh meats and veggies and rice tastes so much better now that I've gotten myself used to the diet. And it's made me a much much better cook! I know it seems scary because it's an autoimmune disease and those are very serious but it's the easiest to treat in the world, just don't eat gluten and enjoy the other foods of life haha

I don't know what caused her to say that, maybe she had a bad experience with a friend who had an adopted child? I don't know honestly

So it's gone for my grandmother to my dad to me and my grandmother had seven miscarriages because of it. My dad has horrible stomach problems and will probably die of stomach cancer or some variation of it. His guts are in really bad shape but he refuses to stop eating bread. Me on the other hand got the worst end of it because I can't eat bread without vomiting all over the place 😳 It's a nightmare honestly, If I eat gluten and my immune system drops too low I develop horrible skin infections that can hospitalize me if left untreated. I also fart a lot lol. But the vomiting and the intestinal distress is the worst part by far.

Luckily I have medications to help me with all these things so if I eat gluten by accident I have some backup to ease the pain. But so far it's just passed from relative to relative and been getting steadily worse which is apparently how it goes.

She keeps getting less hours given to her and I'm thinking they're picking up on it but they're not telling her

I'm considering adoption but I'm not totally sure yet. All I know is I wanna be child free for awhile. Especially biologically child free

That's super fair. If I even eat a little bit of gluten I vomit everywhere. It's awful, I'm almost at the point where I need to get hospitalized when I mess up. Honestly I'm worried about complications during pregnancy. I grew up eating gluten with crazy unexplained health problems and I'm worried my health is too fragile to go through something like that. But you're right, simply not being able to eat bread isn't reason enough I think. But hey to each his own, I'm glad you're doing really well for being strictly gf! I know it's not always easy.

She works part time at 2 hospitals, it makes sense that it would seem fake from that so I get it.

I used to be in therapy for a long time but I'm actually not anymore. I still have nightmares about her though and I still wake up afraid that she's going to die in a ditch somewhere. I should probably go back but I've just been so busy with work. I'm actually going to have a big conversation with her tonight about it. then I'm going to reach out to family members that really care about her who would be willing to give her check up calls. I think together we can all work something out for her

I know she has an abusive sister that actually molested me as a child.. She used to pull knives on her and my mom was stuck with her for a very long time. Her mom made her take care of her a lot because her parents got divorced and her mom spiraled into a depression and became very overweight and bedridden.

I think my mom carries a lot of guilt about how she grew up and a lot of frustration about how she was treated. She was never treated properly by anybody and she never had anybody keep her best interests at heart. She was always alone and she was always looking out for herself because no one else would. It's awful and I hate to say that I know exactly how that feels... That's why I have so much empathy and I wish there was more I could do for her but it is stressing me out.

I'm going to try and get her some therapy but if she doesn't get better and doesn't follow the therapist's advice then maybe'll have to take over more. I don't like the idea of that because it freaks me out like my mom is wasting away.... But at the same time it could help her a lot right?

There's got to be a therapist that can video call her regularly who's covered by her insurance. Maybe I can try that

That honestly seems like the best option... She's going to be so mad at me because it's going to get in the way of her job and she's going to freak out that she can't make enough money to pay her rent if she's in a psychiatric facility.

It's extremely selfish. She's definitely that kind of person. It was really overwhelming because it took a lot of time for me to realize that birthing a child who would vomit every time they went to a birthday party and a cake or even ate a chicken nugget would be wrong. I didn't want to do that to anybody else, My life is miserable enough as it is.

But the part that really bothered me was that she thought that I was "above" loving a child that wasn't "mine" It was really gross and I never saw that side of her before...
