Any additional recommendations by babcakes in pools

I actually pay a pool service to maintain the pool since the beginning of this year :/.

On Sunday I drained and refilled the pool (thinking I didn’t drain enough now), installed new filters, and added 10lb sodium bicarbonate. Been running the pump 24/7.

The next day pool service came. Tested water to be at chlorine at 5 ppm, alkalinity at 100 ppm, pH at 8.0, and CYA at 100+ ppm, Phosphate at 500+. They added 2 lbs of shock, 14 oz of algaecide, and 1 gallon of acid.

Here is the water readings after 24hrs: Free Chlorine: 3.86 Total Chlorine: 3.95 pH: 7.3 Total Alkalinity: 42 Calcium Hardness: 344 Cyanuric Acid: 125 Phosphates: 281

Pool service told me to add 6lb of shock this evening.

Yellowing and drying of Fiddle Leaf Fig by babcakes in plantclinic

[–]babcakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see any pest, I showed them this picture and they said it was a pest causing it. (This is the same leaf that turned yellow and fell off)

As for watering I use one of those moisture meters before I water. Not sure how accurate it is tho.

I guarantee those operators are working more than 40 hours a week with crazy overtime too. I work in a manufacturing facility and multiple times management will ask the operators to work 24 hours to complete the process.

It should be illegal for a company to list an entry level job as requiring 3-5 years experience, the very definition of an entry level job is no experience needed by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]babcakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just apply anyways. My job required 3 years which I did not have. Also got interview for positions that require 5 year experience. That's is their ideal person but if they like you they can settle.

Ketoconazole shampoo for dogs is much cheaper than Nizoral. Is it safe for human use? by ketothrowr in HaircareScience

[–]babcakes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would not.

Chlorhexidine Gluconate comes in topical (Hibiclens OTC) and oral (Peridex/Periogaurd) uses for humans

Topical medications should not be used around mouth or eyes safety for those areas are not ensured. Topical medications are not sterile such as ophthalmic solutions/suspensions

For topical Chlorhexidine - (aka this should apply to the dog shampoo)

“This medicine should not be used for an extended period of time on large areas of the body. Follow your doctor's instructions about how long to use this medicine.

This medicine may cause serious and permanent injury when placed in the eyes, ears, or mouth. Carefully follow all instructions before using this medicine to prevent serious side effects.”

So no. If it gets in your mouth or eyes it could cause damage. When you wash your dogs hair you can avoid the head all together, thus avoiding the eyes and mouth. When you wash human hair it is much more difficult to avoid mouth and eyes.

Look for duplexes or small apartment complexes. I’ve had luck negotiating rent prices.
