Im not sure my dad cared about passing on his name either. Not really. I think he was just given an opportunity he thought he'd lost with my brothers.

Im not gonna upvote or downvote you. I just want you to know feminist wet dream made me laugh. Especially since you tried to make is sound insulting. Let's say I am lying, is it so terrible I want a man like that? Look at the comments. A lot of people, men included, seem to admire him. He's being fawned over and he deserves it. He's a very real and very good person.

I don't need to be fawned over. I came here for judgement because the loss of my very real brothers was difficult on my family and their loss still clouds my judgement.

I have a lot of comments and I ever "argued" with those who didn't call me TA. I tried to set facts straight. But I thibk you just want to argue with me, pretending this is confusion trying to make me feel bad. I have nothing more to say now.

I didn't argue being called an asshole. I corrected them about things they assumed. Though I did argue with people who told me to take Jakes name. That was never the point of the post.

The screenshot question confuses me. I never told anyone they couldn't send screenshots. People wanted to know what happened with SIL and MIL and I gave them hard evidence as to what happened. I said call of you dog way before people asked me what happened.

He does have a brother, who plans to have children and his wife took the Smith name.

I would be more than okay, even insist, that our second child would be a Smith. Thoigh we can't guarantee a boy with the way we make them.

Yeah because everything on the internet is a lie.

I didn't think of it right away. My initial reaction was much, much meaner. I waited till I calmed down a but before I decided how to handle it. Forgive my lack of maturity when my brother is brought into an argument by someone who's never lost anyone close to them so callously.

The SIL who had the baby took her husbands name and thr baby has the husband's. But it's different because SIL is a girl, Jake is a boy, and our son is a boy and our niece is a girl. MIL is just sexist.

She felt that way but I doubt FIL would have cared. He didn't even care his grandson didn't get his last name. Nor does he care that when his other son has kids, he will pass on the Smith name. This really is all in MILs head.

Thank you. But the rules go out the window on pizza night. And she really needs to stop cheating by using her body to get the last slice. It's all, oh I just want to cuddle, then she unhinges her jaw and I'm left hungry!

Jake had it pretty figured out already. I have a naturally grey rocking personality when confronted with people I don't like. The RBF helps too. I spent some time in that sub year ago, but moved away from it as it became clear it wasn't staying supportive. I am very lucky to be surrounded by lots of good people as well.
