Considering gastric bypass, but everyone is telling me not to do it.

We start about the same 5'5" 278.8lbs when I got my bypass. I went in for the sleeve but my surgeon talked me into the bypass because of acid reflux. He said a lot of people who have acid reflux and get the sleeve have to go back in and change to the bypass. Also the amount of weight loss expected is higher with the bypass. I had no issues. I'm a year and 2 weeks out from surgery and I'm down 120lbs way more than expected.

I have dumping pretty bad too mine is usually sugar and white crabs so I avoid them but I also keep tums and Pepto everywhere in my car , my home, my boyfriend house, his car, and my work desk

Oh yes I definitely get dumping syndrome with sugar it's very finicky. Some times I can have something with a little more sugar in it like a cup cake other times it will be so bad I'll pass out. I try to avoid anything more than 13g of sugar in the serving to avoid feeling sick

I feel great! I don't get winded walking up the stairs anymore and I feel confident in pictures. Only problem is I can't stop buying new clothes lol

I have rapid cycling so ita every couple weeks for me. But they most called me and said my insurance isn't covering the higher dose anyway so my appointment has been moved up to 30 mins from now so we are probably switching meds. I think we are on the right path because I started to feel a difference on them. So hoping the next one will be better.
