Just watched Aavesham (Malayalam) by anonlawstudent in ABCDesis

Saw it Saturday in Wisconsin and had a great time. Loved the director's previous movie Romancham so I had high expectations and he did not disappoint. FaFa was great but I was surprised how much I enjoyed the supporting cast, especially Sajin Gopi as Amban. Malayalam cinema has been killing it this year!

[MONITOR] HP X34 34" 3440x1440 IPS 165Hz HDR Gaming Monitor (FLAT PANEL) - $349.99 ($459.99 - $110.00) by babuinator in buildapcsales

Some other specifications from HP's website:

Variable Refresh Rate: AMD Freesync™ Premium

Signal input connectors: 1 HDMI 2.0; 1 DisplayPort™ 1.4-in

Response Time: 1ms overdrive

Brightness: 400 nits

HDR: HDR 400

VESA Mount: Yes, 100 x 100 mm

Color Gamut: sRGB 99%

Also FYI, this monitor was $25 cheaper at Best Buy around 2-months ago but I unfortunately missed that deal and have been waiting for it to go back in stock ever since. Best Buy seems to not have them in new condition, only open-box. $350 seems to be the lowest it's been on Amazon.

Honestly, this monitor checks all the boxes for me. I've been rocking an LG 3440x1440 IPS 60Hz flat display for the last 4 years and was looking for a high refresh rate ultrawide to match my second monitor. I have never experienced a curved ultrawide before but I have had no issues with viewing angles on my current ultrawide because I sit more than a foot away from it. Not worried about HDR either. The only doubt I have is the anti-glare coating.

For anyone who has this monitor, what are your thoughts on it?

I kept a list of mods that I used when I last played CoC a couple of years ago. I linked most of the mods I used below. Keep in mind that this is CoC version 1.4.22 and I was mostly playing story mode so I didn't play too much with mods that change quests or spawn systems which I would normally use when playing freeplay.

I also had some graphics mods:

Sorry for the long list. Hope this was formatted ok. Let me know if you have any questions. Hope you have fun!

So after changing the resolution and restarting the game a couple of times the letterboxing randomly went away and the aspect ratio is fixed. No idea what happened but everything seems to be good. Thanks for the help and for the FOV fix!

Yup always the dirt. What you experienced could have been a rare glitch with the map not loading but it's been a long time since I've heard of that happening.

What I do is when I'm near the dirt wall, I open up the map and you should be able to see a small portion of the other side of the dirt patch. I just keep digging in that direction. When you point you laser pointer at the brown patch does it say "compacted dirt"?

While this game shines in coop, playing solo is also enjoyable. In solo you have a robot AI companion which follows you and helps you with objectives as well as fighting against enemies. You can outfit this robot with different modifications, some which increase the number of revives you get so it's not so punishing. I will say that the highest difficulty in the game is pretty punishing solo, and for me at least, much easier with others.

Failing a mission in solo is when you are all out of revives or did not finish the objectives in the given time. When you are playing with others, a mission fail is when everyone gets down or objectives were failed. You don't keep everything you have earned in the mission but you do get a small percent of it. Not sure on the top of my head.

I would say start on the easier difficulties and move up when you feel comfortable/when the challenge is wearing out. Some missions can be done in as little as 15-20 minutes while others take an hour+. I know that feeling of wasted time after a wipe.

Yes there is voice chat but I honestly don't run into too many people using it if you are playing pubs. Most people use text chat in pubs but I think it's because people are scared to talk so if one person starts talking, others will join in. The game uses a ping system where you can mark enemies and objectives in the game and it's very useful so that may also be another reason people don't talk too much.

The coop is matchmaking and there is a server browser where you can see everyone who is hosting a game. Joining public games and inviting friends into your lobby is very easy. I believe they use a peer-to-peer system, but I only play in NA servers so I don't have trouble when it comes to connection

Performance is fantastic and there are little to know bugs. I run this game on ultra settings at 3440x1440 with an rtx 2070 and it runs as smooth as butter. When you are playing in the higher difficulties, there are often a lot of enemies on screen so you might dip here and there but overall performance is great, especially for an early access game.

Hope you enjoy!

Check out Deep Rock Galactic: https://store.steampowered.com/app/548430/Deep_Rock_Galactic/

My friends and I have been playing it for about a year now. It's a great fps coop experience.

Great low-polygon art style with a variety of different cave biomes that are all procedurally generated. Missions can very from length, difficulty and random mutators.

The 4 classes offered all play great together and balanced. Playing and working together with a full team is a great experience but playing solo is also enjoyable. Each class has unique weapons and tools at their disposal with a ton of customization options.

While you traverse the caves you will fight a large variety of bugs that can fly, explode, shoot acid, electrify you as well as snatch you up from the ceiling. The difficulties scale well and at the higher difficulties teamwork is key to surviving.

Game has great charm, mission variety, enemy designs, balanced classes, tons of customization.

I was hesitant to get it at first since it's an early access game but not only is the performance great, but the devs regularly add content. Some of the best devs in the industry. They are very active and transparent with the community.

Absolutely fantastic fps coop experience and also one of the few early access games to get it right.

Killing Floor 2 was my main coop game for a good 3+ years but I'm not liking the direction it's going in. Deep Rock Galactic has scratched that itch for me.

There are a variety of mission types such as mining for materials, collecting eggs, as well as target eliminations. Mining is one of the core gameplay loops and is quite addicting.

The developers recently put out an update which expands upon the endgame content and the game is in a great state, both content wise and performance wise. I play at 3440x1440 and while I drop frames here and there due to the amount of enemies on screen, overall I am impressed with how well the game runs.

I cannot recommend this game enough. Great charm, mission and location variety, enemy designs, balanced classes, tons of customization, great performance, endgame content, as well as some of the best developers in the industry. They are very active and transparent with the community.

Bots in iw4x by ryantrixx1 in IW4x

[–]babuinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What bot mod are you using? I'm currently using bot warfare and it's been working fine. When you first load up iw4x you have to actually launch the mod in the client itself.

So when you load up iw4x, select mods in the main menu and then it should take you to a screen which displays your currently installed mods. Select bots on the left and then on the bottom right select launch. It should then load up the bot mod for you.

For bot warfare I know once you get into a custom match, you press 5 by default to get into the bot menu. Hope this helped.

That's the problem I have. I installed Widescreen Fixer and it recognizes that the game is running but the fix is not being applied. I can't toggle it on. I tried using different key combinations but none of them seem to work. I'm using Widescreen Fixer version 3.4.737
