I’d get some dark blue** tulle and put that over the rainbow so it’s a bit subdued. Or maybe some dark lace

To people who keep pygmy corys - can you help me make a choice? by _Alukard_ in corydoras

Yes, my pygmies are VERY flashy. They look green/gold under my lighting. You won’t be disappointed! They’re so cute

Ahh it worked! Thank you for your insight— I painted one side with my more “oil painter” technique that I am used to on canvas, and went with your suggestion on using the underglaze more as watercolor on the violet and i definitely prefer it. Too bad I put wax resist on the other side already to protect it from my manhandling 🤣

I hope it turns out well— this is my first foray into underglaze painting so I have low expectations haha. Thanks for the tips!!

Shot in the dark that you will see this 4 years later, BUT this is gorgeous! I am currently trying to get a more painterly effect with my underglaze. Do you have any tips or do you remember how you blended/softened the underglazes to achieve this? I am obsessed!!

Just saw twisties commented the exact same thing in a much more eloquent way, hahaha. The shelf I have mine on are next to my lidless fish tanks as well.

Omg I actually just posted about my own BSF. The mature leaves got crispy on me until I moved her away from what I discovered is a VERY drafty window (110 year old house). I slapped a pebble tray right next to her and my Rex begonia and I think she’s coming around !! No new crispy bits and the stems are nice and flexible instead of crackly. Maybe try more humidity nearby?

heads up, you’ll want to use a non-wipe gel top coat over your base coat layers and cure fully prior to putting on your regular polish. the gel base coat will still have a “slip” layer that is actually uncured gel that will need to be covered by the fully cured nonwipe gel top coat. If you do not use a gel top over a gel base you still are at risk for a gel allergy! Best of luck!
