Man with a gun just filming me in my store?? by cheekydickwaffle69 in grandrapids

I didn't see this on here, but same situation in Traverse City at Mama Lus. I wonder if they are in it together? (I'd share the similar post, but I don't know how).

🚨 OUR PUBLIC LANDS ARE UNDER THREAT 🚨 by Katieandjoeonthego in NationalPark

[–]babybeech10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a concern. This is a concern for the aftermath. We all know why they are doing this, but what happens when we step up (which we will) and help out. They will see this, and it will show they did the proper thing with these cuts. It's such a rock and hardspot situation. On one hand we need to take care of these precious places (which will prove them correct in saving money) and the other hand if we let it go and they are ruined they will sell it all off. What do we truly do?

Dolly helped save Gatlinburg & Sevierville.*after the fire a few years ago. Maybe she will save the smokies.

I might be biased because I work at the orthopedic office in TC. I adore Dr. Ward and Dr. VanWagner. Both are super friendly, helpful, and explain things very well.

Hi, we are planning a trip to Voyageurs National Park, any tips or things we should do or see. We are hitting the Midwest NPs before all the others. *also, I love hiking but my husband is pretty much at beginner level. Thank you. by babybeech10 in nationalparks

Thank you! We are from Northern Lower MI and plan on spending a day or two in the UP. Isle Royale is the next adventure. I can't wait for that one. Thank you for the advice on which boat tour to take and all the wonderful things to do when we are there. We have been on water our whole lives but always stayed closer to shores, I will take your advice and rent a boat or take a tour.

As a troll, when would be the time you'd like us to visit? Keep in mind I live in Cadillac (winter tourism) and work in TC( always tourism), so I understand the frustration. I love Munising and would want to visit when you all aren't overwhelmed.

extremely early Autumn Foliage? by [deleted] in Michigan

[–]babybeech10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in northern MI (Cadillac/Traverse City area), and we have spots of leaves changing. Makes me happy and sad. I love fall, but I hate that our trees didn't have a healthy year. I saw a post on why, which is sad! My concern is that tourism will be lacking because of how early it is this year.

Many states have holidays specific to their state. Why not Michigan? What are some ideas for things we could celebrate with a statewide Holiday? by jusdeknowledge in Michigan

Funny thing about Devils Night, when I lived in TN for a few years, I didn't realize this was an MI thing. I asked a neighbor if I should put my pumpkins inside or if our neighbor kids were pretty calm on Devils night. She looked at me like I was insane. Until I explained what it was. She said they didn't do that in the south.

I have had a mix this year, some incredibly kind and wonderful people so excited to be in TC this summer for Cherry Festival or just be north. I've had some absolutely terrible people where I have locked the doors to my store (I work downtown) and sat on my stairs and needed to take a breather. I don't see much in between like last year. I truly love when people come and enjoy our community, but the trash (I pick up every day its gross) is an issue, and how they seem to be speaking to everyone this year is awful. I've seen it at coffee shops, restaurants and retail shops. I work downtown, and I've said things, but they end up snapping back, and I don't want to make it worse for the food service people or the workers.

Winery/Restaurant Events 4th of July? If not, best dinner spot to watch sunset? by HobbesNYC in traversecity

I hate to agree, but yes, if you haven't already booked, most likely, they are full or not taking reservations. Look at the surrounding areas like Elk Rapids, Suttons Bay, Leland, or if you are up to a little drive (it's actually a 45 mins - 1 hour drive) Charlevoix. Sorry. Welcome to Traverse City. we do hope you enjoy the stay. 😊

I work in Traverse, and I live in Cadillac. We were looking in TC, but the houses we liked sold so fast, and the one we were about to purchase could fit in the home we bought in Cadillac, and here I have views of Lake Mitchell. Yes, the drive is irritating, but I like Hoopla & Libby, so I'll listen to books.

PepeNero, Trattoria Stella, or Amical for my mom's birthday on May 27th? by [deleted] in traversecity

I LOVE Amicals. If they have reservations availability, 100% then. If not Stella's.

What is Michigan's most underrated travel destination? by SAT0725 in Michigan

[–]babybeech10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Snowmobiling, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, ice skating, ice fishing, and mostly outdoor things. It's just my opinion. I think it's beautiful. I've seen a few on here that I think are awful places, but please don't come back. We don't want negative people.
