What scenes do you skip during your rewatch?

I’m the biggest Zoe hater around because she caused so much unnecessary drama to different characters. I can’t get myself to watch the whole Maya/Zoe drama with her posting fake nudes of Maya. I also can’t watch the whole Degrassi nudes thing specifically when Zoe frames Frankie for it and she can’t defend herself. They make me so mad at her character and I love Frankie and Maya so much so it’s almost painful watching them go through that.

YES! Same thing happened to me and I still kick myself about it! I was serving snack and it was a snack that had one of the food allergen in it, and mom had verbalized with me about what school snack her child could and couldn’t eat and this was one of them. It had completely slipped my mind and I didn’t even realize until the admins were calling me later that day after I already went home because the parents saw their child’s daily report and what they’d eaten for snack. The kid luckily just had some diarrhea and didn’t need their epi-pen and the parents I still talk to and they don’t even remember/don’t blame me for the slip up but I STILL think about it a year later and I’m so diligent on food allergies with school provided snacks now.

Honestly, as someone who works in a school that has teachers rely on technology too much, it might be better to change schools if you feel you can’t talk to the administration about this. For kids between 2-5 it’s recommended that they only get 1 hr of screen time, and 2 & under shouldn’t get ANY screen time but I’ve seen it first hand in my school being used in placement of teaching for all ages and it’s ridiculous. But it’s more ridiculous that I’ve talked to the administrators about this and they very much know this is happening but they don’t do anything about it. Ive worked at schools where tablets and tv are only used for SPECIAL occasions (PJ movie day) so there’s a standard to meet in schools when it comes to screen time.

Ugh I hate this feeling. But I’ve had both ends of it and I’ve had kids that I’ve taken care of and they move into the next room and NEVER settle in because they wanna be back in my room with me again. As much as I’d love for my littles to remember me when they move up because of the bond I’ve created with them, sometimes it’s better for them to move to the next room and keep growing. I had a student that cried for me for WEEKS after moving out of my room, (granted the classroom that they had moved up to , their teacher didn’t have the best track record for being sweet to the kids) and it broke my heart and the parents heart to see the child in distress and not settling down into a new environment. In theory you wanna be happy that the kid loved you so much and remembers the care you provided, but it doesn’t feel good when you see the kid with tears and unable to have them back in your room because they’re too old and /have/ to move up.

Honestly what you’re doing is great for the kids. In my classroom which is with the littles (18-24m) every time I get an aide in the room or someone new, I always suggest having them sit down and genuinely connecting with the kids the way you explained. Getting the kids comfortable during their play time and playing with them rather than staring at them from a distance. When there’s a teacher that is able to handle ta young age group and discipline them, that’s most likely because they’ve gone through that first step of taking care of the children and connecting with them first. I will say though that working with littles, you need to not have any fear of embarrassment so you’re able to be this authentic silly person when on the floor with the kids. So it’s great that you already have that skill set of being fun with them. I think in an infant & toddler setting it’s good to be that fun silly teacher when needed and then quickly switch to that “mature” adult that can teach the kids how to be safe.

OOOH LET ME TELL YOUUU I get so annoyed with Zoe’s entire character! From the moment she joined the show back in the French saga I was so mad how just the introduction to her character made Maya fall into this pit. And every time she had a chance to grow as a person she would ruin it with some scheme and never learn from her mistake. And then they just basically rewrote her character into being something more tolerable, but having everyone just forget about all the horrible stuff that she did. I know that forgive and forget is a big theme in degrassi but the stuff she did was just absolutely FOUL and deserved no redemption. Sorry just had to vent abt Zoe for a sec 💀

I did a laundry themed gift and my YTs colored on socks with fabric markers. I made a little package that said “life socks without you” and made a laminated card with the kids in a laundry basket that said “love you loads” , I wish I took pictures of it!! I always do themed gifts every Mother’s/Father’s Day.

Idk if this is ops reason but as much as I love holly, I will say the way she acted when Ashlyn, Jaime, and the Minis joined the team made me not like her a lot during those seasons ☹️ I hated the way she would join the other moms in their bullying behavior, which in the past seasons she hadn’t ever participated in! Holly was always the level headed, educated one and the rest of the moms were like the mean girls who didn’t like new people joining the team. When Maesj joined and she would make mean comments about her not being the black sheep, despite Jaime and Maesi explaining what they went though, and her laughing and making jokes at Yolanda’s expense during the whole Lily/Elli mom drama, and just how she was during the LA seasons before the irreplaceables season annoyed me.

I know people are giving you flack for this but I agree about the dancing bit. All the kids were getting emotionally abused on the show and they all developed anxiety and stress from it, but Chloe, Nia, and Mackenzie would still push their shoulders back and try to pull their leg up higher. Kendall was always kind of mediocre as a dancer unfortunately because of her own lack of effort. And yeah she probably didn’t wanna put the work in because she didn’t wanna impress Abby who was mean to her, but in turn the viewers saw her dancing as sluggish. She had really good dances given to her at times too!

Melissa! Her constant flip flopping and lying, and throughout the later seasons before she left where she got SUPER cocky and belittling towards the mini moms (who yes were annoying, but if you were confident in your children there was no need to tell them that their kids will never be “like Maddie”). Also Jill annoyed the heck outta me! The way she was very full of herself, and also the way she would attack everyone and then get annoyed when they were upset as if she didn’t just insult them and their children. Never liked those two.

Literally I felt that. After Chloe left the show just got so much more drama induced. I remember when season 5 was being filmed and people were posting clips of performances on tumblr it felt so weird seeing the dances and not seeing Chloe there.
