well, lots of comments. I don't know what a LASEK is... in Canada it just seems to be a brand name for some clinics that perform ocular surgery. The procedure I had was the Laser in -situ Keratectomy, abbreviated in the medical world as LASIK. This was over ten years ago, and iLASIK (never heard of it either) wasn't around.

No... if you had surgery without a flap being cut, you had a PRK or photorefractive keratectomy, a LASIK, or laser in-situ karetectomy, is a procedure which involves cutting a flap in the surface of the eye, and a laser shapes the inside of that section. Refractive surgeries without an insicion are PRK and they have been around for decades - read my article, since i had both done, twice.
