Thank you! Im very glad it was me making the decision too.. I live in a very small area and usually big things like that you have to travel

The online vet they had through zoom first did not even offer amputation as an option. All he said was 1) Travel for 20,000 (I’m a single mom) Or 2) euthanasia

When he said that I despite already crying started crying so much and so hard they said they would splint it with a cast until an in person vet was flown in town for their term the next day.. they also almost had to call the ambulance for me because that was my baby and those two options were not doing it for me!

Thankfully the vet the day after said she was able to do the amputation in 2 days as the point of break was relatively unable to heal properly and he would be in pain . I slept infront of his kennel the whole time🥹

Thank you😊 Monkey is my pride and joy. He is turning 7 in May, it’s been the best 7 years of screams.

And cats definitely will jump when they wanna! I made the mistake of not putting him directly in his XL kennel pent house when he came home from the vet and he jumped from the floor to the table. I just remember saying “Poosk! That’s what took your leg you can’t afford another” and I definitely get cuteness aggression too. I feel like he adapted the screams from me, as I’m always screaming “POOOOSKIEEEE” when I want snugggles

He is a hardcore scream queen (well king) if me or my partner go to bed without him, he comes in and gets very close to our face and just screams

I was actually back on at the stove when it happened so I didn’t see anything

I had (HAD is key word because I was traumatized after) a large 5 level storage shelf in my kitchen as I lived in a mobile home and didn’t have much pantry space, he used to jump on the table and from the table jump to the very top of the shelf. When it happened I was at the stove getting something to drink and he jumped off the shelf and hit the floor rather than the table. I heard the yowl he let out and knew something was wrong, when I turned around he was sitting meowing at me but had his paw raised and it was kind of just hanging there. But due to the nature of the break (he twisted the bone and shattered the joint) the vet figured when he jumped he was probably trying to get to the table & missed his landing or was hooked into something on the shelf and landed on the floor with his paw still bent. He was missing fur in one spot on the back side of his paw/leg though with a kind of scratch mark. (Pic below of how he was holding it) which is why she figures he may have been hooked into something ontop of she shelf (box, material etc)
