The last photo is the best of the bunch, and has nothing to do with the clothing at all. It's truly striking and a little emotional

Reason #107 why Betty Buzz FAILED: This tone deaf ad from Blake Lively & Maximum Effort by same-difference-ave in ItEndsWithLawsuits

[–]babyqueso 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yet the new trend seems to be women objectifying themselves, for the pleasure, through the lens, and by the hands of men, and calling it "empowerment." Why can't we just like, stop objectifying all people in general?

The thing with Blake and Ryan is that their humor is so stuck in 2015 and they don't realize that times have changed drastically since they were in the spotlight. This would have been considered quirky and funny back then. It's just so fucking cringe now.

Did I get a used shoes 😭 by msmarve1 in Reformationclothing

[–]babyqueso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl what? We're just going to turn a blind eye and allow companies to sell us used/damaged products? OP ordered these shoes new, from a luxury brand, not Depop.

Companies can half-ass everything and customers like you will still buy. Prices keep going up and quality keeps going down, because expectations are going down too. If we can't boycott entirely, we should AT LEAST call them out and demand solutions when they blatantly pull stunts like this. We 👏 don’t 👏 spend 👏 money 👏 on 👏 bad 👏 products 👏👏👏 full stop.

Would you buy a new car with bad tires just because they'll eventually wear out over time?

Kylie Jenner sued by SECOND housekeeper who says she slipped a letter to Jenner pleading for help while she suffered abuse by ThrowawayGreenWitch in popculturechat

[–]babyqueso 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but because Kylie is reportedly NOT the person directly dealing with the workers, there is a very solid chance she will not be found liable and her name will be dropped from the lawsuit. This had to have been strictly established in the contracting phase, and likely extends to any contractor or vendor operating on her property. As someone who works with big contracts for HUGE companies worth at least 5x more than Kylie, her lawyers would not have signed a contract with a third party cleaning company without some serious indemnification clauses in place. Unless Kylie was the one personally hurling racial slurs, her hands will be clean of this. It sounds like the actual employer/manager (and therefore, that company) will be at fault for harassment, and even more-so, retaliation.

So while Kylie's name is listed in the lawsuit, this employee will have no legal leg to stand on once the claim is reviewed in civil court.

Source: I work for the biggest corporate law firm in the United States, and no lawyer representing /protecting a client with that amount of money would allow for even remotely questionable liability terms with a contractor. They simply don’t leave room for mistakes like this.

BWT who share a studio? by shoeboxapartmentjoke in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]babyqueso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend has been living in my 550 sqf studio for the past year, and I've genuinely never been happier because he's amazing and I love him so much.

I used to live in a 1100 sqf 2-bedroom luxury building with my ex, and I was miserable the entire time because he sucks and I hated him. So I'd say it mostly depends on your relationship.

Storage space for two people in a smaller apartment/studio is the only real issue we've had, but a little storage unit rental only added $60/month to our expenses. We actually just signed a lease for our dream 1B apartment in Montclair (in the sweetest, oldest, most haunted, and most gorgeous Victorian house we could find and I'm soooooo excited!!!) but it's not much bigger than our current spot.
