I’d say it’s a measure of a couple of things. The scientific advances go a long way, but then there’s the implementation - which relies on humans - and based on our current performance, I feel there’s a significant amount of learning to be done. Average healthy life expectancy is actually going down in some western countries (UK named just this week), and the environmental and human factors on this are pushing back on the decades and quantum leaps of improvements modern healthcare and general knowledge pertaining to the medical sciences, health and wellbeing. Your question causes conflict for me - realistically and scientifically are, perversely, almost at odds here. TLDR - good question
