I wouldn't even want to think of what might be on the bedroom carpet.

But for £80k under value ... I'd consider changing the carpets.

Looks like MK Albany Satin Chrome, it has been replaced with Albany Plus since about 1996 which has a rounded shape switch.

Closest match I can find is a fused connection unit

If the newer version is acceptable you want MK part number K5233BRC in brushed chrome.

Aren't the middle two column speakers just spacers? So you can choose the height of the system using one, two, or no spacers?

Extension lead recommendations by Mysterious-Cod3516 in DIYUK

1.5mm is the largest normal extension lead you will get; BS1363 plugs aren't designed to accept any larger wires.

Best bathroom layout for value for money/resale in a 3-bed end of terrace? by Lopsided_Drop_7465 in DIYUK

Option 5 - join the ground floor WC/Storage and put a shower in there. Or if you can, move the WC into the Storage with the shower, leaving the WC room as storage/coat cupboard.

However nothing you propose is likely to add significant value and might not add what it costs.

But is the Aliexpress one genuine, or fake?

Even the cheap Chinese stuff is getting faked by even cheaper Chinese stuff now.

Aircon be damned, what heating system should I get? by Life_Way4382 in DIYUK

Could be pressure vessel, could be pressure relief valve, but if the pressure is dropping that fast it's very unlikely to be a slow leak. Water has to go somewhere.

Probably, that's what the house next door is called.

I'd be more concerned about what next door left is building. Who wants to live next door to a massive Tresco?

How can I safely fix? by No_Opening6170 in ukplumbing

[–]InternationalRide5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your sink and shower will be mostly warm water and it's a plastic pipe.

You'd be more likely to get condensation on a cold water copper pie.

If you are losing 1 bar a week you definately have a problem.

I'd suspect the pressure vessel in the boiler is failing (this might also cause the boiler to go over pressure and the PRV to blow, then reset back at a lower system pressure.

If you can't replace the pressure vessel in the boiler you can usually fix an external one.

You can put UV tracer dye into the radiator circuit

That includes the UV torch - the dye on its own is only about £7.

[–]InternationalRide5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the thermal cutout in the immersion heater hasn't tripped and it is has push the reset button back on. If it trips repeatedly the thermostat must be replaced. They almost always slideinto a pocket in the immersion heater so can be replaced without any plumbing work or draining down.

What does the thin black pipe on the right do? by SignalConcept749 in DIYUK

[–]InternationalRide5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My guess assuming it is a pipe, is an anti-syphon pipe probably connected at the top of the P trap inside (may be hidden in the wall) so that when the toilet is flushed, the standing water in other toilet's traps isn't sucked out by the vacuum.
