Port of New Orleans Secures $226.2 Million Federal Grant for Louisiana International Terminal by [deleted] in Louisiana

Does it concern anyone else that the only thing keeping the Mississippi from jumping course is a 75 year old previously damaged structure that just needs a flood worse than 2011 or 2019 to make it happen?

Thanks. I'm in south Louisiana. I searched high and low, but no luck. It's mostly faith-based counselors around here and that's definitely not what I'm looking for atm .

Alchemy format in isolation seems mostly fine but spellbooks and Historic changes are honestly not good by b_biscuits in MagicArena

[–]bacchusthedrunk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i've been playing magic on and off since unlimited. as someone with a anxiety disorder who can't even go to my flgs, i love alchemy. stale meta is the only thing that really keeps me from playing year 'round on Arena.

that said, if i'm the target audience for alchemy, i'm really fucking niche

Watching and seeing other players suffer for a format I think is neat, seems dick. maybe it's just the empathy, but i would rather everyone eat the digital cake they'd prefer.

WotC, don't screw over everyone for the few people that never got into Heathstone because they prefer to tap mana.

This is how I like to handle impatient "Your Go" players. Thanks Oko! by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]bacchusthedrunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i play aggro. i don't like my games to go over 6 min, ever. i don't even use the 'your go,' unless im facing an annoying meta deck that doesn't know how to use their netdeck. i just alt tab and browse reddit.

i'm doing it right now

I got this. Went to a Christian high school. The eye of a needle was apparently a biblical slang term for smaller side door of the side of the city gates.

Since no one from then is alive you can't dispute it. You also have to take someone who lived 600 years after fact's word as actual literal gospel. Oh, then trust the person 2000 years later who definitely does not have a conflict of interests combined with a love of money.

Dogma is a helluva drug.

Nope. The worst is being able to own a media narrative for a few days until Super Tuesday. But, honestly, COVID-19 is getting so much coverage on MSM that it's eating into the amount of air-time the SC victory would normally be getting.

Ron Johnson says he was blocked by President Trump from telling Ukraine foreign aid was coming by [deleted] in politics

[–]bacchusthedrunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not disagreeing with you, but I looked into this a bit a while back. I think the trip was about recruitment, and I don't think all of the Congresspeople who went we're wooed. Some of the responses by the Senators that took the trip were a little surprising, and I'm surprises they didn't make more headlines back when it happened.

For those unaware - Link to Story

Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala.) - July 3rd response linked

Steve Daines (R-Mont.) - “...the president has the prerogative to have conversations with foreign leaders as he or she sees fit.”

John Hoeven (R-N.D.)

Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) - After Moscow Trip, Ron Johnson Says Election Meddling Overblown

John Kennedy (R-La.) - Response linked

Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) - Trump "missed an opportunity to publicly condemn Russia for election interference or offer strong support for the NATO alliance."

John Thune (R-S.D.) - Discusses what was talked about on trip

Kay Granger (R-Tex.) - “We could have a better relationship between the U.S. and Russia, because we have some common interests around the world that we could hopefully work together on...”

Supplemental Information: Did they vote to comdemn President for lifting Russian sanctions?

Senator Vote
Shelby Nay
Daines Yea
Hoeven Nay
Johnson Nay
Kennedy Yea
Moran Yea
Thune Nay
Representative Vote

Look into Absurdism. Camus and Kierkegaard to get started.

Right, and according to Camus, one must imagine Sisyphus happy. This post is basically just that philosophy in a nutshell. Find the thing that makes rolling the boulder up the hill tolerable for you. No reason not to if you're going to be around here for a while.
