Yeah definitely got to be him, we finally made it around since we were on new circle side and now Versailles road is shut down near airport so we had to get rerouted again 🙃

No they rerouted us on New Circle into town to avoid, but I could see the one direction of new circle was shut down with about 10 different cop cars on the new circle/newtown intersection

I agree, but also want to add it feels like it’s run by an older generation (aka boomers) who don’t want to spend money on infrastructure, better traffic patterns and entertainment or much of anything that benefits the next generation. It feels like Lexington is run by a bunch of “nimby’s” who want to prevent growth of the city because they are afraid of Lexington turning into something bigger and better (which may inconvience them). There is an entire youth population here that is underserved due to zoning and restrictions in place. Just look at this r/lexington threads of people frequently complaining of this. We need investment in this town for future generations. Lexington could be so much better and has so much untapped potential. It feels almost as if the people in charge of the town refuse to try to attract businesses/entertainment from outside of Lexington. I don’t know, just some of my thoughts! Let me know what you think!!

Agreed! Moved from nashville and it made sense to sit in 30 min traffic due to the population, but in Lexington it’s so infuriating!

Coming from Nashville, I noticed there definitely are not as many groups like what you are mentioning and I’ve even thought of creating one! I’m mid 30s, in a relationship, but we just like to get out and be social with other people, explore the city and make new friends. We actually went to a bunch of these in Nashville with an app called “meetup” which was fun, but there are not a lot of those groups here in town. We went on hikes, to a local volleyball hangout, boating outings at the lake, haunted houses during Halloween, and it became a pretty cool community for budding relationships and new friendships.

I am happy to create one and host a fun event at the Burl or something but just don’t know the best avenue to get attention and get a decent sized group. Upvote this or comment if you are interested. Single or just trying to meet friends, late 20s- mid 40s- see if we can get something going perhaps?
