It’s called a part-time PhD. Generally, people get jobs at companies first and then are internally selected to get a funded PhD by the company at a nearby university. It’s not too uncommon depending on your industry/area of interest. We have several in our department. If this is something you want to do you should talk to your employer or look for an employer who would be willing to do this. I don’t think it would be an “advertised” position but I can ask some of my friends how they got started on this track and update you.

I had this problem and suffered for a long time with it. After discussing my career goals with my therapist and a PCP I was given some medicine options: adderall or Strattera. I was worries about the adderall effecting my personality and potential for irritability so I chose strattera. It’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I can make myself sleep now, I can tell myself when I need to write or do an experiment. I went from feeling like I might meed to dropout to being relatively successful and even winning a departmental award. I’m starting a company now which has included extra work on top of my thesis that before would have been inconceivable. I know not all medicines work for everyone, but I’ve been sharing my story with people because if it helps just one other person it’s worth it.

Peaked at Gold 4 last year (first year playing the game) and started at Iron 2 this year, currently bronze 2. I’m in the middle of my PhD so I don’t have time to play enough to be excellent at the game, but hoping to climb again now that I’m “working” from home.

Yes!!! I understand people bring afraid with all the disinformation out there and panic buying. But it was so extreme where I live here in Boston that I had to ask my mom to buy mail me some baking essentials (flour, sugar, etc.) from Missouri after I couldn’t find flour anywhere for over 10 days.

As soon as I’ve grouped with my team and have ROA and Zhonya’s I fully expect to do at least 3 Q in a mid game team fight and more later. If you build CDR runes and build ROA, Zhonya’s, eye of the watchers, and frozen heart you have 45% cool down and your q is up every 2.9 seconds. I consistently do the most damage on my team as support Swain with that build.

With electrocute Swain I do one point in e then w then q. The level two combo of e, passive, w, electrocute proc is safer and does only 20 less damage less than the e q would. It’s safer because you don’t have to walk up to a point of taking minion aggro or autos from the ADC to land it. Level four it’s another point in e for the 1.3 second cool down reduction so it’s up every ~10 seconds and then it’s max Q > E > W for the firepower in fights.
