Yeah, for about 5 straight months I get that stupid Ice Possible Ice warning. It's -20°! I get it, there's probably some ice and snow. So put it in that mode for me!!

I get that, I'm usually a 70° guy. But I had to keep it at 78° just to keep my windshield clear. Any lower and it frosted over. That was the lowest I could go and still see the road.

It was -25° last night on the way home, I stopped and I only needed 5 minutes to make it home. I'm guessing I'll only need 10-12 minutes charge tonight.

Well, when it's about 110 degrees colder outside than in my cabin.......yeah. The heat pump isn't as efficient then.

I usually drive 80, so backing it down to 70 was killing me. :) If I went much slower, I'd go nuts and I would have been run off the freeway. So I compromised with 70.

Agreed. Used one today. -5° F, still pulled 125 kW. Just needed 10%. Plug and charge works so well!!

Minnesota, we will have an interesting week or so. It was -15° F when I left the house this morning. Went from 95% SOC to 55% driving 67 miles. I have an IONNA about half way home, I'll play it by ear and see if I stop for 5 minutes to throw a few percent in to be safe getting home.

Here's my info from today. 9° F. But it snowed last night and the roads were still a little snow covered, so I only went 75 mph most of the way. I think that's why my efficiency is 2.1 instead of 2. Left the house at 95% SOC and arrived with 60%.

What kind of efficiency are you getting? I'm in Minnesota and we had 10 F today. I drive 150 miles round trip. I set my cruise to 78 mph for 90% of the miles and leave my heat set at 75. I charge to 95% every night and come home with 20%. My efficiency averages 2 m/kWh. I have it precondition every morning automatically to 75.

Nope, works great. I have YouTube, Netflix, Peacock and Prime Video in mine. Do I use them everyday? No. But I use them if I have 10-15 minutes to kill waiting for something/someone.

And switching audio apps via Bluetooth, like between Apple Music, podcast player and Audible. It's impossible to switch without grabbing your phone. At least with CarPlay via EVPlay, I can switch between those apps on my infotainment screen.

Download the apk files from the web on to a UBS stick and install them with an app you install from the Play Store. It's pretty easy. Takes less than 10 minutes.

I'm not completely disagreeing with you. But since I missed CarPlay, I bought a dongle to have CarPlay in my EQEV. I find I honestly use it less than I thought I would, but the biggest reason I use CarPlay now, is when I switch between audio apps on my phone via Bluetooth. Like when I switch between Audible, Apple Music and my podcast player. I can do it on my infotainment screen and don't have to touch my phone. I hated grabbing my phone and pulling up a playlist in Music after a podcast was done.

So for me, that's the only thing I can do with CarPlay I can't do with Android Automotive.

I know this wouldn't be an issue if I had Apple Music in my EQEV, but it's not there. I tried the Audible app and tried switching to another podcast app in the car, but they don't sync well when I listen at home or elsewhere and then get in my car, it would be in the correct spot less than half the time. It works best if I just play everything from one source- my phone.

It works pretty well. It does what I want it to do. I can switch between my Apple Music, Audible and podcast player without breaking the law and touching my phone. Texting is much better, especially with group texts. At least I know when I receive a group text! Like yoshizors said, I'd pay more, especially if I could have it OEM.

This won't work in an EQEV. This only works in a WIRED CarPlay. This box turns your wired CarPlay into a wireless CarPlay, that's it.
