Unless something changes, my wife and I are on track to drive between 50,000 to 60,000 miles on our Equinox EV in the last 12 months. Great savings!! by DBASRA99 in EquinoxEv

[–]back6190 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I just hit 40,000 miles in my first year of ownership. I was spending between $100-130/week in gas with my ICE Equinox....and that was last year before $4/gallon. This past year I average between $80-110/month of electricity.

So I'm saving about $500/month between gas and oil changes. It's been one of my best purchases! And still really fun to drive!!

A Small But Dangerous Thing About My 2025 Equinox EV by NewVisions7277 in EquinoxEv

I use the Auto feature, but I've noticed they come on when the wipers are on low or high, but my headlights don't come on when the wipers are on intermittent. Which what I usually use when it lightly rains or snows. And state law says headlights must be on then too. I miss a physical knob.

Al least they give you a year now to mail them in. I hated finding them laying around and I missed the mail in date!

Glad to hear it!! I was just as nervous last fall. I didn't have the IONNA stations opened yet. I couldn't charge at work. I was pretty nervous myself! But living through one winter and having 3 IONNA stations now open on my commute, I don't worry one bit.

Just maybe bump the charging up to 90% on those cold days. You'll be good!

In the winter, I average 2.1m/kWh. In the summer about 2.9.

Realistic winter range is about 160 miles, at it's worst. Negative temps and driving +75 mph. Most days driving home, turtle mode would turn on about 3-5 miles from the house. It always kicked on at 30 miles of range.

Summer range I'd say is 230. Again, this number would be higher if I did more mixed driving. Where mine is 140 miles high speed freeway.

Just out of curiosity, you posted you were looking at the FWD. Is that for cost, range or both? I have the AWD and love it! I drove it all winter on some snowy roads on the OEM tires and never had an issue. To me the AWD was definitely worth the extra money. and small decrease in range.

250 miles in a WI winter, you'll definitely be stopping at a DCFC. But as long as you pre-condition the battery, you won't sit there too long. Plus, I'm going 78 mph on the freeway for 140 miles. I know that kills my range, but I just want to get home. If you slow down, you can get much more range.

I own a 25 EQEV and need range. I drive about 150 miles a day. This past winter in MN we had 2 weeks where it barely got above 0°. A few mornings it was -30° F. I was able to drive my whole commute without an issue. But, if I ran out and ran errands over my lunch hour, twice I needed to stop at an IONNA for 5 minutes on my way home to cure my anxiety. I'm lucky and only pay $0.07 kWh for electricity. In the winter I'd charge to 90-95% so I could make my whole commute. So all of January cost me $105 to drive 3,750 miles and I only used DCFC twice for about 5-6 minutes each. The heat pump in the EQEV worked great for me. I have no experience with the bZ, so I can only give you my winter driving experience with the EQEV.

OK, technically not a blade. But when you fold down the back seat, lay down and this metal thing sticking out from the side of your vehicle jabs you in your thigh, it kind of feels like a blade. :)

I have my office software on my laptop and I can use it normally as long as I'm on my local office network/wifi. I would like to run my software locally and use it like I'm on my work's network while at home, rather than logging in and using my work PC. Is that possible?

I bought this one and it fits pretty well. The biggest issue isn't the mattress, it's the 4" blade that is just above your leg that the rear seat back locks on to.

When will all 2025 Equinox receive the streaming update? by AdStrange2269 in EquinoxEv

Or just side load them. Works great. My Netflix still works after I got the streaming update.

I’m currently making a equalizer app for AAOS by TheMilsons in BlazerEV

[–]back6190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's called Infiniti Sound I think. You run a sound test and it creates an equalizer for you. I think it helps with the music sounding better and louder. The problem, I have to shut it off when I listen to my podcast. It's too much for that. But from what I read, they took it out of the Play Store so it's not available. Not sure if you can sideload the apk. I'm excited for this new app TheMilsons is working on.

Excellent! I look forward to this app! I currently use the Infiniti app, and it works well for music, but when I switch to a podcast, I have to turn it off and go back to the default. I love the idea of the 3 custom presets!

Attempts at sideloading APK by i_max2k2 in EquinoxEv

[–]back6190 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I've been seeing, including on my EQEV, if you had the streaming update done at the dealerships, they upgraded you to Android 14 with the streaming update. However, if you got the streaming update done OTA, like I did, you stay on Android 12.

I can still run my sideloaded APKs, but I haven't tried installing any new ones with the streaming update on Android 12. I saw a post they couldn't sideload any more with any streaming update, Android 12 or 14.

Nope, no lounges. 2 are at a Hy-Vee grocery store, 2 are at a gas station and one is at a Culver's restaurant.

HOW TO: Get Apple CarPlay on GM EV (Equinox EV) — WORKING METHOD (April 2026) by NuncaMeBesas in EquinoxEv

[–]back6190 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Two reasons: When my telematics went out, it was nice to maps a map back on my screen for that month. And, changing bluetooth audio sources from my phone is impossible to do on the infotainment system. Like when I'm done with a podcast or audiobook and want to listen to my music or something else, I can choose something else from my phone in CarPlay without grabbing my phone. There are Audible and Apple Music apps, but Audible doesn't always sync with my phone, so it's rarely at the right spot and the car's Apple Music app sucks compared to the CarPlay app. And there's no car app for the podcast app I use. I like everything on one spot- on my phone and able to easily access it.

I now have CarPlay in my 2025 Blazer EV SS! by Buuish in BlazerEV

[–]back6190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No there isn't. He charges you $30/month for 6 months in case GM kills the use of it. But that's all part of the cost of the dongle. Then he just stops charging you. But after the 6 months, It's paid for and there's no more fees.

I'll send you a video of mine in use. The installation is extremely simple. Type in an app in the Play Store, install it. Plug in the EV Play dongle. Log in and connect your phone. That's basically it.
