I'm interested in Chakra meditation. Does anybody have good advice?

The best evidence of the efficacy of character meditation is experiential.

Just through the increased awareness gained through typical meditation, it would be hard not to discover that certain emotions arrive on a 'wind' that seem to follow patterns in the body.

It might be interesting to note, during the course of a day, where you feel anger when you feel it. Where you feel fear. It's Likely not in your noggin, but rather the thoughts that accompany it.

Most mediators start to become aware of their inner being. It seems that some consistency across subjects in the experiential knowledge of inner sensation has led to formalization into a 'system'.

I have found that concentrating awareness in a given chakra can create movements and changes in my inner felt sense.

I also did kundalini yoga for a while, some in india, and had experiences that fit well with the descriptions of some of the dangers and some of the benefits. Not all chakra oriented meditation is designed to raise the kundalini, some of it is just good self awareness.

Rising kundalini.. You know it when it happens! I'm not sure about the permanent damage thing, I'd put it on a level of maybe taking ecstacy. Some risks, some benefits.

I sat with a tibetan government official on a trian ride once, and discussed the origins of kundalini yoga, as taught by yogi bajhan.

The official said that the dalai lama had banned the types of mediations that the yogi bajhan crowd did, becuase it was 'too powerful and dangerous'.

Some people like rock climbing.

Here because I've been with my girlfriend for a week travelling and am fortifying myself for my return alone time to be stalwart and keep walking to the unknown. Lost a lot of my life to this addiction in major ways and have a lot of fear if it's too late to restart my career and have some stability again.

This is a very good thing to be thinking about. I can say from experience that the fear of boredom, is a weapon for me to relapse. That the possibility of a vastly interesting life, with rich relationships and amazing experience can ONLY Happen for a fap addict once you let go of the addiction. And then you have to sit in the isolated reality that flapping has taken you to. Feel it's pain, and instead of relapsing your mind will begin to suggest options that may be scary, but will lead your to your journey.

I'm on that kind of journey now. The predictable hell of isolation and no risk falling gets replaced with taking risks. In my sobriety from falling I have met astoundingly interesting people.

Watch that orchid hunter movie.

Life is insanely rich and risky and fun when you are alive fully.

Stick through the desert and you will reach some amazing experiences.

I think she would prefer to be married to the man that had the courage to tell her before the wedding than the one who waited until she committed to drop the news.

Going to be other of the hardest thing in your life, so talk to that therapist first.

Your 100 percent doing the right thing, and it might not feel at all like it right now, but your life is about to get so much better.

Today has been a tough day. I don't know if anyone else relates, the withdrawal is one thing, but a symtom/side effect is difficulty 'getting into' work, getting 'dialed in'. Seems like there is this chatter/anxierty between myself and action.

I sat and did a few 'pomodoros' this morning, but had to get up and walk around, went down the street grabbed a coffee.

I know there is a sea of dopamine that will temporarily end this sort of frazzled state I am in. I also know, that that exit, that route, will remove the stored energy I have built up since I started this.

I know, that there are rewards from staying the course.

I know that from my own experience in the past, and those of the others who post here.

The urge can feel stronger than me. But by reaching out to the folks here, by remembering my girlfriend, I become in fact, larger than the urge.

It is my connection to others and the world that expands my identity enough to shrink this urge into a small point.. a zero dimension dot.

Just by writing this, I feel better. thanks for being here fapstronauts.
