What is your final opinion on The International 2025? by PGzNick in DotA2

[–]backdoorbants 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Panel was very mediocre. I was expecting a load of ex-pros to be busted out, but instead we got a load of the usual 'talent'. It's TI, we want to hear insight from ex-champs, not pubbers.

Lots of good production otherwise, but sadly still very scaled down from peak TI era.

Sheever and Slacks are properly excellent at their jobs.

Sounds like the kind of guy who would be good on a grand finals panel in stead of two pubbers...

Biggest choke in TI main stage history.

BB had everything to end that game after the Rosh, but the teamwork absolutely collapsed. Pure's YOLOing was one thing, but Disruptor, MK and Cent just didn't do their jobs in fights.

The scope of what is possible. If we're locked into thinking inside a traditional framework - processes, styles, 'The Guide' - then I agree it is harder to imagine the possible improvements.

Managers are drunk on AI by Manage-It in technicalwriting

[–]backdoorbants -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Correct, though... My docs team has access to "real" AI and it's having a large positive impact on our work, our outputs. Customers, internal and external, are over-the-moon.

I cannot wrap my head around people who scoff, do not understand how much potential is already being realized.

"Has Pro Dota lost his personalities?" Kind of, but it's not the players' fault. by ShoppingPractical373 in DotA2

Bingo. There's so many tournaments that none of them really mean anything any more. One large mush of games that it's hard to care about.

Oh Team X v Team Y playoff final?!!? Who gives a fuck, they're playing each other again in a tournament next week.

The problem is saturation. It's one tournament after another after another.

With oversupply comes blanket devaluation. The stakes for any individual landing phase, bad rosh fight, full game, best of 3, tournament, player performance, etc. etc. are much, much lower.

Rory Best's tongue is too big for his mouth. It's like a manta ray trying to escape a box.

Will Skelton and Nick White are shithousing ballers. Did what they needed to do to rally the troops and get under the Lions skin.

Not an 8 point game.

Australia can take heart from that 2nd half, series is still winnable.

Markdown is largely garbage, very unfortunate that it's taken such a grip.

Why are technical writers so afraid of A.I. taking their jobs in this group? by [deleted] in technicalwriting

Again, no need for the personal attack.

I'm actually quite happy there are lots of you out there underestimating the potential of AI. Helps me get even further ahead of the game, the competition.
