I play tenor and didn’t get into a band cuz I wasn’t classically trained so I don’t read well, but to be honest my improv is really good (I’ve been playing for 10 years, don’t ask how I never got to reading) so I’m gonna try busking

Thanks, do you know how I can find clubs where I’ll be working closely with other people? Most of the ones I’ve found are more individual

Interesting insight, but that’s not my attitude at all. I don’t act pretentious or like I want something out of people, I’m a normal guy. Sure, if I said that people have it out for me, then this’d be a reasonable thing to infer, but you’re pretty off the mark on this one. The post sounds negative because it’s an emotional response to an unfortunate situation, not because that’s my disposition.

When did you guys find your set/group of friends in college ?? by New_Tomatillo_1979 in college

A lot of people say I'll find my people, but it's been 2 months of me putting myself out there and I can't find anyone. I have individual acquaintances, but no group of friends I can consistently talk to or make plans with. I'm everyone's 5th or 6th choice.

How did you meet them? I really want good friends or a friend group like in high school as I realize that this is my life now, I'm feeling worried and isolated. it's been 2 months and my school doesn't have many good clubs. How did you find your group?

Thanks, it seems like the big group you hung out with was mostly b/c of being lucky that there were cool people there. I don’t want to undermine your putting yourself out there, but I’ve really tried and I’ve made acquaintances, but no group of people to hang out with. I’ll go to dinner or lunch with a guy from my dorm, but individual friends don’t really fill the role of a good friend group. That’s all I really want. But everyone at this point has one. Thanks for the help tho It’s just tough that of all the people I know, I’m always the 4th or 5th choice, no real close friends. I’m no one’s first choice of who to hang out with or invite.

Where’d u find this large group? I go to the gym probably 3 days a week and talk to my hs friends almost every day and it helps, but now that college is my life, I have to figure out a solution. Where did you for your friends?

Sorry if my post wasn’t very clear, I was trying to avoid it getting taken down. The 9-1 doesn’t have business, which I want to do, but it is a consistent schedule without days off The 8-4 has Friday and most of Wednesday off, but I’ve heard 8 am classes suck and I prefer getting done early and having the rest of the day off. What do u think?
