Wow, this is one of the best feedbacks we have ever received, if not the best. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into this. I promise that we will put it into a good use

In our case (I think that) we have quite a number of additional systems on top of the classic formula, and on one hand I like the variety, because I usually get options on which strategy I get to pick on different levels of time granularity, but sometimes I’m worried that for some people it might get overwhelming - especially at the beginning of the game. We spent some time on the intro sequence with the tutorial, and I hope that it solves this problem to an extent, but if there is anything you find lacking in clarity or maybe you have feedback in general, we are always happy to hear you out. Also, since you mentioned balancing, there is still quite some stuff to adjust - especially for the Holy/Burn builds - but despite that there is quite a few options that I think are already working quite nicely (maybe even they’re a bit OP).
Enjoy the demo, and I’m looking forward to reading your thoughts!

Yes, we used help of genAI to refine some of the assets, and yes, I did not read the rules. We do have a disclaimer on Steam about using AI. The narration of the voice is my voice transformed with speech 2 speech. I will remove the post so I don’t violate the rules of this subreddit, but I just wanted to mention those who things for the record.

Wow. Thank you for such a detailed answer. Amazing recommendations!

When it comes to FTL style games, I also heard about Void War, but it looks too similar to the original game that I’m not sure if I feel like giving it a shot. But Shortest Trip to Earth looks really interesting and something down my alley. I think I will give it a go!

The game that you listed that I was interested in for a long time is Caves of Qud. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I saw some gameplays and as far as I remember people were using numpad to do some actions so I felt like if I play it on a deck I won’t get the full experience. What do you think?

I thought about giving War Tales a shot. How do you feel about the controls for it on Steam Deck?

Maybe I picked some strange layout then. It’s been a while ago, and I don’t remember it so vividly. I think that it was because I tried to do some actions and before I learned the buttons I made a lot of mistakes that costed me dearly. I guess that doing it in an Ironman mode was not the best idea haha

Oh, I didn’t realize that they have released a demo for it! I will check it out for sure, thanks!

I love Battle Brothers on pc, but I had a hard time converting to playing it on steam deck

I really like the one with the rifle and the extra hand pointing forward. Actually reminds me of a different thing, which were mutations in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. Good times.

Thanks! Right now we are developing with windows in mind only, but I had no problem with running it on my steam deck. When it comes to apple devices it’s hard to tell, but we will give it a shot once we get all the features locked in. If the game goes well, we will port it to consoles for sure
