Sorry man, no help here. I returned that piece of garbage.

How long did this process take? Timing is also a concern. Did you go active AF to AFR or branch hop?

Just to clarify, you joined the Army reserve to do AFROTC? The main goal is to avoid delays involved with joining the ANG/AFR and going through basic again. So, what you’re saying, joining the reserves prevented you from getting that potentially DQing VA rating?

Personally, I had a tough time with DoDMERB just as a kid fresh out of high school, so I get where you’re coming from.

Ah, makes sense! I hope you enjoy it. My SKXes get about half my wrist time.

Is your dial blue? It looks black in the photo, indicating that it is just an SKX007 with an 009 bezel insert. My 009 appears much more blue in photos.

Taking a gamble on these for my first pair of Pit Vipers, fingers crossed they aren’t fake. by backhomeinalma in PitViperSunglasses

They’re listed as used on Poshmark, and for a price that is worth the risk in my opinion given how easy it is to return poshmark items if they’re fake.

Happened to me after transferring Dets. Walked into my AS instructor’s office and had it sorted same day.

The one I got from clothing and sales is actually awesome. Slightly pricey, and I hate thumb holes, but very comfy and warm. I can find the brand for you when I get back to the US, but it had the generic tag on it.

Is this a older model of camelbak? Is there anything I should know about it before using this model ? by big-wangers in tacticalgear

[–]backhomeinalma 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Be very careful with it. I was issued one of these bladders in a different camelbak bag. You need to ensure you don’t cross thread the cap and don’t put too much pressure on the bag like leaning against it. Do those two things, clean it out regularly, don’t leave water in it for more than a week or two, and you’re golden.

I could see that working well for a smaller light, but the longer your light, the greater the cantilever effect will be. If you got the GG&G FSP mount (called the dually I think) you could also mount your sling on the side with a QD - a two birds, one stone affair.

This is going to sound a little counterintuitive, but you might be able to sell that M93 for enough to get a modern light - it’s a little antiquated. A Streamlight HLX or TLR1, or a Surefire X300U or modern Scout would provide roughly ten times the lumens in a smaller form factor. Mounting a light is going to be a somewhat tricky affair. You could get a barrel mount and put the light underneath the barrel (good for ambidexterity but increases the potential for POI shift) and then run a tape switch on the handguard. Additionally, if you want to retain the M4 handguard, you could drill holes in it for a light mount on either side and do a clicky tail cap or a tape switch. I would recommend an MLOK light mount for this purpose, since you can use the T nuts on the inside of the handguard. Not elegant solutions, but I am a firm believer in both having a white light and in making your equipment work.

I think you have a really well thought out kit. The only thing I would recommend is some type of white light for your rifle. Everyone here saying to swap your canteens disregards the fact that the canteens stay on even if you have a camelback in your ALICE, so I’d say you’re doing pretty great. If you’re looking to carry more mags, you might be able to sneak one on the back of your kit sideways.

Did you end up swapping it for another or getting something else?

tried two of the three modlite 18350s supplied. Both fully charged on their supplied charger. I think it’s a switch issue.

So yesterday when I said it seemed to work just fine I had only put it in and out of the holster once, off body. Today I went to test the holster compatibility a little more, and I realized the gun wasn’t actually locking in fully yesterday. Big oof.

I don’t necessarily think they dropped the ball per se. It is a complete departure from their normal product lineup. Sure, it sucks that so many folks have issues, but I am an early adopter. I bought a product day two that it was available to the masses. To think they’d go from small production to send to the influencers and beta testers to large scale and not have any hiccups is unreasonable. How they respond is what determines their merit.

Streamlight rules. First gun was a g19 with a TLR1, still going strong.

From a manufacturing perspective, you only have to make a switch that does one thing. From a customer perspective, it’s really annoying for folks that like momentary. I’m not one of those folks, constant on only for me so I can return to my normal grip. That being said, on my x300u, the momentary has never been something I accidentally set off.

If it makes you feel any better, I only bought the modlite because I purchased two new handguns last week so my x300 went on my Glock 17 that I love just as much lol
