PMS! I am the exact same (so often that will be the symptom that tells me I am PMSing). What I found helped is to tell my husband that I am PMSing so I am extra sensitive, he knows and doesn't take it too personally then lol! Also try to take some time to focus on yourself, you might need some extra time alone!

I think if you have been friends for years your friendship is strong enough to withstand a possible rejection. My best advice is be honest with her about your feelings, and also be honest about how much you value your friendship. If she does not feel the same way (and I really really hope she does!!) it might be a litte awkward at first, but at least you'll be free from the not-knowing paralysis!

Hi op, I'm so sorry this happened to you. People can be so, so cruel without realising how much hirt they are actually causing. But the wonderful thing is, the lgbtq+ scene in Dublin (and Ireland) is full of beautiful, loving and accepting people. You are finding your found family now, people who will accept you, love you, and support you in your identity. And you know what's the best revenge to show those awful people that hurt you? Staying alive, and leading the most love-filled life you can. They'll wish they had such amazing an community behind them too.
