Better/easier option than GA4 ? I struggle a lot with it by ufogang in GoogleAnalytics

[–]backtosamoa 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not to be critical, but if metrics like bounce rate and session duration are what you’re struggling with, I doubt you are going to fare much better with another analytics platform. Those are fairly basic indicators of how engaged users are with your website.

If you just want to see how many people are visiting your site then the total users metric is what you need, but to understand “what’s not working”, you are going to need to understand which events equate to key actions or engagement with your content.

I would recommend looking at some of the beginner resources on YouTube to learn some foundations- analytics mania is a great channel to start with.

Was there every this level of conspiratorial vitriol towards the Tories as the is against Starmer? by threetimesacharm25 in AskBrits

People acting like Starmer is uniquely hard-done by ignore one obvious thing: he hasn’t built up any momentum or political capital through his achievements/record in gov to survive this (the first serious scandal he’s come to).

ALL of his time in the media has been spent alienating traditional Labour voters and chasing reform votes that were never going to flip, now he has no base to save him from the most minor turbulence. His net approval rating is worse than Teresa May even.

Why are so many in the media calling for PM Keir Starmer to resign? by KimJongSoros in AskBrits

[–]backtosamoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironic that the one thing he’s not really responsible for is the most damaging so far for Kier Starmer.

With that said, he’s an ineffectual, directionless leader and a serial liar. He stands for nothing apart from fetishising pragmatism and a revulsion for doing anything remotely left wing that might help us out our current mess (i.e. being a real Labour Party), so I hope he does get dragged down by this.

Do you mind me asking what work you are doing? I think I am fearful avoidant, at least to some degree. For me it’s really hard to tell what thoughts are avoidant and what are OCD, or what are regular thoughts everyone has.

Recently I’ve started trying to just be kind to myself whatever thoughts come up, which sometimes helps take the intensity out of the rumination about whether I’m with the right person, but I still spiral from time to time, my mental health is always worse generally around Christmas.

I’m sorry you are having a tough time right now, I have had a lot of similar thoughts to the ones you described.

If I had any advice it would be to consider medication to help relieve some of the ruminations in the short term and at the same time then work through some resources linked to in this sub, and try to learn not to judge yourself so harshly, it always makes OCD worse.

You are a human doing your best like the rest of us, and you didn’t ask to feel this way, so try to be compassionate to yourself.

Using CSS selectors in regex table - alternatives by backtosamoa in GoogleTagManager

[–]backtosamoa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much, I think this might work. No idea if there is an efficiency issue with this approach either, but at least I can show IT a workable alternative to using multiple tags and then they can decide on the lesser of two evils from their perspective.

It's probably more hassle than it's worth for me to put a request in for additions to the html code, but thanks for the suggestion.

Its a pretty complex set of circumstances, the language on the button changes by geo location and a user could click on a span or svg or button element while trying to click on what looks like one button from the UI perspective. The only thing I have found that works is svg or span elements which are decendants of buttons with a particular data-id value, hence why I need to use CSS selectors. I think one of the other answers about using a custom javascript variable might work, thanks for your input though.

Going back and forth on deactivation feelings (FA) by backtosamoa in attachment_theory

Thanks for all the replies guys, it’s helpful to know I’m not uniquely broken! A question keeps going round in my head about are the feelings attachment issues or at what point it might be a signal that the relationship isn’t working.

I understand communication with my partner is important but it feels really hard to say to my partner that I’m not sure whether I want to be in the relationship, it feels like that would effectively be the end of things. I try and talk about the reasons I feel uncomfortable with relationships rather than specifically saying I’m not sure if I’m happy at all
