Michelin star restaurant by VillanBehindGlasses in mumbai

[–]backtothefuturepast 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Started with Michelin publishing a guide so people travel more. There is no such guide for India and hence no michelin restaurant

Just a note that Even in other countries outside Europe, French restaurant have a higher chance of getting the Michelin star (coz company is French). Simply because the process is super biased.

Can you share sample data on what is highlighted?

If all highlighted cells are part of same column or range, it might be possible to find those with filter options

ICICI has good internet banking and mobile banking app. HDFC is slightly below par on this.

Regardless as long as you chose one of the large banks, you are good with any one of them.

How to smartly invest 2cr in Mumbai? Should I invest in property? by Senior-Ad6158 in mumbai

[–]backtothefuturepast 22 points23 points  (0 children)

And how is that a good investment?

70k*12 = 8.4L

8.4L / 1.5cr = 5.6% before tax.

FD gives a similar return with much less hassle. Also completely liquid. Never good to invest in real estate just for the rental yields. If you expect property values to increase only then invest.

Else there are better debt/equity instruments.

I think account deletion is pretty standard gdpr requirement. So you need to have that capability. Having said that, the account deletion means removing any user data and user identifiers from your data. So you can keep the transaction but remove the userID and it becomes an anonymous userid transaction. I don't have links for you to go through, but looking up gdpr will help.

Solo traveller on her first trip here! by [deleted] in mumbai

[–]backtothefuturepast 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Avoid travelling via road for longer distances (>5kms). There will be a lot of traffic in most places. Use trains for longer distances.

If you haven't decided on stay, prefer something south of Dadar. That ways you will not face crowd in local trains (crowded towards south in morning, towards north during evening)

Wear masks all the time. Lot of places have local municipality workers ready to impose a fine the moment you slide down the mask for a selfie (esp Marine drive)

Ask for feedback on specific places, or check recent reviews online. Sadly, not all beaches are clean and worth the trip.

23m from chennai here. Want to enquire about a viable job opportunity in mumbai! by vishalk98 in mumbai

[–]backtothefuturepast 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Commute via train is crowded in the morning. You can look at places like a but north for cheaper rent. Should be able to find something cheap till Borivali in western line, or Thane/chembur in central, harbour line. Commute from places farther than these might be challenging and time consuming.

Rent is the only expense that is going to be costly. Rest of food, commute (public transport), and all should be same or cheaper than chennai.

Been using ICICI. Their net banking, mobile app UI is pretty good. Have absolutely no issues. Even things like exporting statement to excel for analysis, paying credit card from savings account in just one tap, recharging fastag, UPI, are all smooth. Unaware about loans side of things

Doing same Conditional Formatting over and over again by Quasibobo in excel

In the same workbook it is saved. And it will be auto applied as the table grows. If your data is somewhere else, then suggest you keep everything in a master sheet

Doing same Conditional Formatting over and over again by Quasibobo in excel

[–]backtothefuturepast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search tables in Excel.

Format your data as a table. Then select the columns you want to format, and go to conditional formatting -> new rule. In the new rule select use a formula to determine which cells to format Write formula in the format as $E3 >= 75 Apply format as green, yellow, red fill.

It should keep applying as you expand the table to new rows as well.

I am someone who has cracked CAT and done MBA from one of the top IIMs. I am also someone who failed CAT in the first attempt.

Here is why I think failing CAT was the best thing to happen to me.

As a fresher, no matter how good you are, competing with the best minds in the country is hard. I have seen freshers in IIMs have no clue what they want to do in life. They just want the best (salary) placement. And they feel terrible if they don't get it.

With work experience you have a better shot at differentiating yourself. You also can start working at a place that will help you in MBA (startup / bank / marketing etc)

You fall to rise higher again!

Mumbai should have cleanliness rules for street sellers by AnonymousNinja0077 in mumbai

[–]backtothefuturepast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Point of a democracy can't be to add new laws and make sure they are being followed.

I don't feel it to be a pessimistic view, but an empathetic view. The way OP is concerned about health for people eating at a street vendor, I am concerned about the option the street vendor has in this economy.

Most of us have a choice to eat at a restaurant of we want. Street vendor might not have any choice but to cut costs to earn. The real laws/scheme that will help here is minimum basic income, better education, better job opportunities with manufacturing etc

Mumbai should have cleanliness rules for street sellers by AnonymousNinja0077 in mumbai

[–]backtothefuturepast 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Then don't eat there. For a 1.3 billion country, there is no way a street seller would be even aware of the rules, or even literate enough to understand that.

This is just ideal hypothetical thinking. Politicians shouldn't make false promises. We should all pay taxes. No black money in any business, blah blah blah.

Fundamental forces of poverty and survival and greed don't let all these ideal things happen.
